Having played both games maxxed out. I would say AW2 looks blurrier than SH2 even with DLAA on AW2 and only DLSS on SH2... kinda weird. SH2 scare factor is leagues above AW2 though 😂

@@lankylonky22 WTH are you talking about? 😅 AW2 is probably best game of this generation; it looks, sounds and plays fantastically and it is a narrative masterpiece. SH2 remake is awesome too but is below AW2's technical level. They're both stylistically different games so it's hard to compare them but Remedy's Northlight engine is light years ahead of whatever engine SH2 runs on.

The video doesn't do the foggy location in Alan Wake 2 justice. Watery at the beginning is mildly foggy. Later on in the game though it gets oppressive to the point where you can't see much in front of you on the road when you leave the safe area. I thought of Silent Hill when I first experienced it.

Now it's better time to put the side by side. Played Alan Wake 2 twice and I'm playing Silent Hill now. Both games are top notch in my opinion. Perhaps AL2 is a little bit better in graphics and voice actors to me. But there's not a clear winner here with these masterpieces. Great times for survival horror fans like me.

The asset quality on silent hill 2 is slightly better,both use software lumen ray tracing by default and both have options for more rt quality on PC,I think they are exactly in the same level, it's just different art that hits differently

Alan Wake2 cannot use Lumen as it is based on Remedy's proprietary engine and not on Unreal like SH2

@@JBIGroup3D, this is essentially spatial-temporal filtering that they apply in order to compensate for the lack of raytraced samples. They’ve got help integrating support of ray tracing and mesh shaders from NVIDIA dude, who I happen to know. There’s a lot of related expertise regarding that in Helsinki and Stockholm, so no wonder they beat the outcome of Lumen hands down.

Silent Hill 2 is już ugly and looks like 6/10 game - and sorry to say that - this is AAA remake of important game - RE2/3/4 remakes and Dead Spece showed us what is the minimum we can require from the remakes. How come it is Unreal engine 5.0 and it looks like Ps3/Ps4 game? I have the answer - Blobber Team - they are just bad developers - ugly Medium was 900p and 30fps on Series X and it looks like Ps3 game.
