The problem with the games is how badly they aged both in game mechanics and dialogues, most of the time the cutscenes will leave you more confused than informed about the plot, maybe it was deliberate, I don't know but I really liked this kind of slow narration, I confess I had to research the lore of all the games after I finished them to fully understand them, so if you're into that kind of things go for it, SH 2, 4 and 5 are probably the best ones.

4 was my entry point to SH. I liked how they tried something new with your "safe room" becoming dangerous as the game went on; it actually made me nervous to return to it due to the hauntings. I hated escorting Eileen, the amount of backtracking through previous worlds and those fucking ghosts though.

The Room was my favourite Silent Hill story. It’s very bizzare and symbolic unlike the pretty direct first 3 games. No game has ever managed to reach the eerie dreamlike atmosphere that this game has imo and I love it so much 🔥

Silent Hill 4 has by far the best stomp attack. Harry Mason put in a good effort for the PS1, James and Heather had no idea what they were doing. But Henry? Henry makes you bite the fucking curb and splits your skull open
