One of the things I like about the Silent Hill games is the fact the streets are named after horror authors. Brite Street is named after Poppy Z. Brite. There's also King, Campbell and Straub streets.

If you're wondering about the candles: After you beat the game once, you unlock the "digging up the past" side quest when you start a new game. The candles become lit, and,if you have a shovel, you can dig in the small mounds of dirt and find past Silent Hill memorabilia.

Brad, the candles are lit up when you play the game a second time and they mark the spots for a digging-based sidemission!

The candles are for the second playthroughs secret ending. You need a shovel, and on a side quest called "digging up the past" you need to shovel at all the barrels with candles on top (there's 7 total), and pick up the artifact that's buried there. Continue the game as normal afterwards, and you'll get the Surprise! ending.

Actually, you're right, bro. It is indeed a pick head axe. In the fire service, we use a flat head, and a pick head. the flat head is used mainly in conjunction with a halligan tool for door breaching.

I think you can light the candles on the barrels when you've found the missing one. I remember you going through another playground and that barrel had a missing candle. When you stood by it, you got the option to Open your inventory. So find the missing candle if you can remember to. lol
