It's to sleep for me, works a lot better with a game I know. Just use the commentary and the sound effects to try to mentally picture what's going on and it usually helps me to not overthink so I can drift off.

You did your best to avoid most of the cheapshots of the Weeping Bats and the Void and that's cool. Also, Murphy telling the lil' girl to not be scared while chasing her holding a fire axe is quite hilarious.

I have a real soft spot for this game. I think the devs dropped the ball on making it scary, but they had a lot of great ideas and actually seemed to *get* Silent Hill as a concept, instead of rehashing SH2 like most western devs did.

But they did rip off S.H.2. Murphy runs around while the town tries to get him to remember the truth. There's even a pyramid head type monster in the boogyman. That said, I also have a soft spot for this game, even though I hate the fighting, and it's laggy as all hell, I like the feeling it envokes when I play it.

@@meangenegeraldene7686 The difference is they at least tried to make it their own with The Boogeyman, as opposed to having literal Pyramid Head turn up in Homecoming even though he's specifically relevant to James so it makes absolutely no sense why he'd manifest for Alex Shepherd. Plus I like the twist they did with The Boogeyman and how the cop is going through her own Silent Hill parallel to Murphy. I dunno, I guess at that point I was willing to take anything, but Downpour really felt like a step in the right direction for the franchise, it nailed the atmosphere of the town imo. Just a shame there was so much bad blood by that point that the fans wouldn't give it a chance.

Murphy runs around while the town tries to get him to remember the truth" It's almost... like that's what Silent Hill is 🤯 The town makes you face your greatest fears (or in Silent Hill 1's case, Alessa's greatest fears), and the people that are stuck in Silent Hill their role is to uncover the mystery/trauma that they're dealing with. So yes They "got" Silent Hill Heck, Silent Hill 2 was also not really scary for the most part. The first hour is, and there are a few moments later that get ya (the deep voice that stomps around in the prison for instance), but overall you're mostly facing a total of 3 different enemies, the legs, the nurses and the straightjackets. And they aren't scary after a while because you see them so much and can run around them quite easily.

Yeah, as one reviewer said Downpour had the potential to be much more than it actually offered. Like, it took the risk to stray away and make it's own cast and plotline, as opposed to the other 3 who heavily relied on the og 4 SHs. 'Cause, yeah ... exécution definitly could've used more polish so Downpour could be as memorable as SH 1-4 👀

This was a strange game, I didn't hate it but I didn't particularly love it either. Story is slapped together, the final 'I forgive you let's hug it out' is awkward, and the ending is a complete copy from RE0. However the absolute worst part is- -you don't carry any of your items into the prison! I went and did every side quest and saved up all my items and *poof* gone.

yeah that sucks but your items are already impermanent throughout the course of the game anyhow and you get mad shotguns in the prison anyway. that more than makes up for it.

The only thing in the story that didn't make sense is that how are u going to ask a random supposed criminal who u don't know to help pull u up when u was just talking shit on a cliff side ? Lol that part just doesn't make sense to me so it's annoying 😅

I really wished Akira Yamaoka did the soundtrack to this game. This is the lowest rated mainline game in the series but I honestly feel its a much better SH game than homecoming and origins. Still a flawed game, but it tried to go in a different direction like Shattered Memories and had some good ideas on paper but the execution wasn't perfect. Great playthrough! 👍

strong and strange it starts so to speak. First time playing it i was kind of surprised by the played violence in the shower scene, cause SH was always more something abstract in wich you used your imagination. The Title Track fits with that butchering tutorial, felt more like adema's immortal in Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance xD BUT BESIDES THAT i really love that game, well done and pretty underrated at least to me. Happy finally being able to watch it now on your Channel :) Oh and by the Way Ed is awesome, cause he is one original Postman just like me, no love-letters but loads of bills in 2023 xD
