Silent Hunter 3 - Mediterranean Career || Episode 1 - Gibraltar

Back in university, i played a hyper realistic SH3 campaign. I modded Das Boot sounds into the game, plugged it into my roommate's stereo and played 1x at night while sleeping. Volume on. Every now and then I'd get woken up by a panicked shout "Flugzeug gesichtet!!". I'd then issue voice commands to the crew (with some old voice to keyboard mapping software), such as "tauchen!!" to dive, etc. It was very immersive - probably some of the more fun moments in my gaming history :D Edit: i hasten to add that this was done when the roommate was out on a trip back home - I was nuts, but not cruel ;)

In real life, No U boots that entered the mediterranean left the mediterranean. It must have been horrible to get those orders in real life.

Literally suicide the only exits being the Gibraltar strait and the Suez, both some of the heaviest defenses British ports in the world… then they would make you return to port in the Atlantic eventually, Italy temporarily.

Excellent!! As a blind subscriber, I absolutely love these SH3 videos. It's like listening to a movie with a great audio commentary that gives me everything I need to imagine the visual element. Do not forget that approaching escorted ship with an electric engine speed of greater than four knots will get you spotted... that is how you lost you boat and crew in the last campaign you did. I am currently doing a 1939-blacksea 1942-onward, hoping to be able to get my hands on a type XXI after transfer to Norway when the Black Sea campaign comes to an end. I use a type IId, so not easy but in that sea I can burn as much fuel as I want. Upon mu second mission in 1939, I sunk the Hood... also sunk another 34k warship a few missions later. The Black Sea campaign is sometimes buggy, but I manage to find workarounds. Than you for bringing us another campaign... be more careful than the last two that ended in defeat. Good luck!

Don't know how long you'll be wandering around the Mediterranean but from what I read, it's a lot harder to get out through the straits than it is to get in.
