S-33 has become known as the Silent Ghost to the Japanese Navy in this area and even further beyond, an almost mythical story of an old WW1-era American submarine that seems to evade their every effort to sink it. Any who chase disappear on eternal patrol.

Interestingly relative reduction in variety of shipping action has been offset quite neatly by the progress in editing and interwoven narrative. That’s say compared to the previous two SH3 series’. I’m actually really enjoying this ‘slower’ series, keep it up!

Hey Wolfpack I have a question, are planning to take part in the battle of the komondorski islands, and will u like perform a port raid on Kiska Harbor because the Uss Grunion sank several sub chasers there and the Uss Growler was attack by 3 destroyers off of Kiska harbor, but she sank one of them and severely damaged the other 2, and what do u think are the best shipping lanes to hunt in the aleutians, and yes it was true that there were a lot of sub chasers in the aleutians I think there were more than IJN destroyers

While sinking subchasers is good, unlike destroyers, subchasers are a lot easier to produce than destroyers, and Japan suffered a lot more from each destroyer lost than each subchaser lost. Granted, subchasers were things that were really not produced in nearly enough numbers by the Allies. While the US's Destroyer Escorts and Royal Navy's frigates kind of fit the bill, they should have had actual subchasers produced in large numbers well before 1942 (given that real subchasers had no pretensions about surface combat or AA--they had one small deck gun, maybe one small caliber AA gun, and depth charges; meanwhile, frigates and DEs had two destroyer-caliber deck guns, a suite of AA guns, and even torpedoes). Having a whole bunch of subchasers patrolling in the areas around their convoys or carrier groups would have helped a lot. Regardless, sinking 3-4 subchasers in the span of a couple of months is definitely quite an achievement for an S-boat. Loving this series, though I do wish you'd been in the central or south Pacific.

You were lucky he saw torpedo in the water and accelerated into it. I think your speed estimate of 9 knots was right, but range was wrong(higher). Rangefinder should be same for all ships, to the masts.

The one on the left gauge is set to the sub's max design depth: 200 feet (much more than that and *crunch*). The one on the right gauge is set to 160 feet, but I don't know what it signifies.
