@@adamp.3739 The fascination of the Silent Hunter series was being a little boat in a big war, you could go anywhere you want searching or evading the enemy. That's something no other game has managed to replicate so far.

@@X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X OK, but the sense in Wolfpack of being a small boat in a large war is retained, isn't it? I mean, you still are in command of a tiny, submersible boat in a massive war. You still have the options of evading enemy vessels or coming at them and taking them down. So maybe Wolfpack is perhaps Silent Hunter's spiritual successor.

We can only hope UBOAT(and Cold Waters) makes Ubisoft rethink that. SH was great game. Maybe not for everyone, but for sub sim community was. UBOAT looks bit too much arcadish for my taste.

If you are heading 90 degrees on your target's course, you can simply take 90 minus the bearing to get the AOB

Taft just a heads up you can hold it at deeper depths at low speeds it's just very hard. You gotta do manual control planes and angle the boat up. There is a video out on it and a few form posts

I think you also need to avoid crash diving if you can, as (IIRC) normal diving the sub ballast is set for neutral buoyancy, and will hold depth (for the most part) without any forward motion. Crash diving sets you to a negative buoyancy to get down FAST, but depth can only be maintained with forward motion and use of the dive planes.

Thanks a lot, I had such a blast with this game years ago. But caution here: the only way to enjoy it at acceptable levels of realism and immersion is to get a CD, not via STEaM! You will need it to patch it and mod it heavily (see SUBSIM). I hope for its successor, but UBOAT wont make it (nav and combat way too arcadish as it is), possibly Wolfback once you can truly solo play.
