Garrett is one of my favorite singers/writers/people. He has a way with words in both his lyricism and just sharing thoughts in videos like this. I'd love to see him do TED talks someday about things like mental illness and maybe even literature

Where once was light Now darkness falls Where once was love Love is no more Don't say goodbye Don't say I didn't try These tears we cry Are falling rain For all the lies you told us The hurt, the blame And we will weep to be so alone We are lost, we can never go home So in the end I'll be what I will be No loyal friend Was ever there for me Now we say goodbye We say you didn't try These tears you cry Have come too late Take back the lies The hurt, the blame And you will weep When you face the end alone You are lost, you can never go home You are lost, you can never go home

Garrett just has a way of explaining things. I don't know what it is exactly, but through his lyrics and through just listening to him talk, he gives so much well thought out information. I love him and I love Silent Planet.

I saw them for the first time this year. I had been a fan of them for years but i don’t think I ever really knew what it meant to be a “lover” After their set Garret hung out in the merch section with a line of people waiting to see him. This man makes it his mission to connect with everyone, on the stage and off. Committed and passionate don’t even hit the mark. He’s a beacon. I talked to him for like 5-6 minutes and I won’t really go into what I said or what he said but I came out of that night more inspired then I had felt at a metal show and in a different type of inspiration. I saw them again and I will be seeing them for a third time this year in November and I cannot wait to be in Silent Planet’s presence again.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” ( Matthew 11:28-30) 1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galations 5:1) Drugs subdue us to slavery, but there is freedom and hope in Christ. If you are struggling with addiction, seek help from others. But most of all, seek help from Christ! Come to him and he will heal you! And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. (James 5:15 )

Man this song spoke something completely something different , well in a way. The idea that prescription drugs are a direct comparison what we are told to be , or fit into or conform to worldly standards. That these "drugs" became our identity , much like this heroin ediction becomes that persons identity. That we are so consumed "nummed by drugs" that we see our lives go by, not as we onced dream it to be.

I know people who chose prison over rehab as a means of actually getting clean. Access to drugs is far too easy in rehab, mostly because they are given to you. That would be my only argument against your point of decriminalization completely. Everything else seemed pretty spot on and full of passion. Life is so big.
@Mortarion66666 жыл бұрын
Dude, that's not true at all, infact quite the opposite. A lot of people end up addicted to drugs in prison, because they are so prevalent, indeed more so than anywhere else. 65% of the prison population are addicted to drugs, look it up. And if addicts need a fix, they're gunna get it, whether it's illegal or not, whether they're in prison or not. It is simply not the answer to criminalise drug users. They end up with HIV and other diseases, not being able to get a job, potentially isolated from their family and other loved ones, and stigmatised from the rest of society. It's not the answer.
@macjbd11496 жыл бұрын
@@Mortarion6666 with the use of drugs being a criminal activity, it makes sense that a huge portion of the population are addicts. Again, I am speaking from what I have been told by people addicted to heroin on how they actually got clean. And I didn't say it was the answer, I simply offered a counterpoint to why complete decriminalization might not be the answer either. As far as rehab/prison in relation to ease of access to drugs: they GIVE you drugs in rehab. I don't think you can argue against that.
@seizuresalad916 жыл бұрын
Beau Wheeler Ibogaine only works if you are dead set on ending addiction. People would undergo the process just to fall back. As it is an experience it is surely not a means to an end. It is all defined by the person and what they want ultimately.
