Garrett talks with us about the meaning behind "Visible Unseen"
Speak to me in a language only Lovers can understand. Dance with me in a rhythm only Lovers can comprehend. One fist gripping defiance, other cradling the sacred inside of our hands (1): Pariah.
It’s the pain of becoming (2) - confronting what stirs within. I wanted to show you apocalypse (3) so you could see just how this ends - as it begins. No place to rest your head (4), no respite for an anathema. Banished for the sin of honesty - from the citadel of little hidden hells. (5)
Pyroglyphic: I saw Your face inside the fire. Monolithic: A dominance that dictates desire. (6) Ultimatum: Dual damnations dichotomize me. Suffocation: Crushed beneath holy hypocrisy.
This isn’t love this is escape.
Exiled into the night, left to navigate a world that negates our needs: The Visible Unseen. (7)
You’re the weight I’ll always carry through a world so cold. You’ll never walk alone.
We will find a place to lay our heavy heads. These lonely roads will always lead you home. (8)
Am I only flawed when I am alive? Only your child if I live denied? I ask of you, Benevolence, was I made just to be broken? (9) Our faith became a silver shield - insulated from compassion. (10) Praising the prosperity, (11) repressing their identity. (12) I’ll show you hell is a place - it’s in the secrets we keep. Oh God… How those secrets keep me. This isn’t love this is escape. Coerced conformity…fixed on the dust in their eye. Forest fires rage in mine. (13)
I never thought to ask… When you said she was asleep did you hear my disbelief? (14) The bitter irony, that I wait for God as she dies beside me.
You’re the weight I’ll always carry through a world so cold. You’ll never walk alone.
We will find a place to lay our heavy heads. These lonely roads will always lead you home.
We found our place in the disconnect of neglect. These lonely roads will always lead you home. Until our paths converge give me eyes to see The Visible Unseen. These lonely roads will always lead you home. (15)
Speak to me in a language only Lovers can understand. One fist gripping defiance, other cradling the sacred inside of our hands.

Many many Christians have convoluted the true meaning of 'love'. It is a VERY complex act/thing/idea but it is not nearly as hard to do as we sometimes make it. Loving somebody that is different than you can be a very difficult thing to do, but the difficulty should NEVER outweigh the ability to love somebody. It just baffles me and breaks my heart that there are families that kick their children out for dealing with questions about their sexuality. Garrett, thank you for giving those kids a voice and an anthem to hold on to in their trials. Thank you for shamelessly talking about your faith but not sacrificing the truth in order for the majority to agree with you. SP is truly something special. If you're reading this, know that you are loved.

I hope people will actually consider the words you speak in this video and think about the way they view others. Definitely one of the hardest things to do as a Christian is to find balance. We cannot be so "loving" that we just accept everything but we certainly cannot go to the polar opposite and become hateful and vitriolic. I believe that you can love someone without accepting every behavior the have. I believe the LGBT lifestyle is wrong but it sickens me to think that anyone would physically harm and even kill someone who lives that way. I have had friends who lived that lifestyle and they knew where I stood on the matter but I did not treat them as some sort of piece of trash to be discarded. Every human being is an image bearer of God whether they are black or white or straight or gay or Muslim or Buddhist or any other "ism."
@joanatorres3616
@joanatorres3616 5 жыл бұрын
Why do you believe it's wrong ? If you trully think about it, it's just a human loving another human, nothing wrong about it. It's awesome that you respect it tho, I just wanted to challenge your beliefs and understand how one thinks that, because to me there's so much shit we actually should worry about in today's society, that thinking LGBT people are wrong is just a waste of energy, to be honest. Nothing wrong comes inherently from LGBT lifestyles. And if you think even more about it, what other people do with their own lives shouldn't concern any of us, unless they are interfering with other people's freedom or individuality. Would love to hear your thoughts on that. Have a nice one.

@@Thystonius well no...calling it a "life-style" covers all grounds, you cant put all lgbt groups under "homosexual" because that would be scientifically incorrect (according to the different respected groups)...& I think It could upset a newly found asexual person if they were then grouped in with homosexuality...due to their psyche in which they believe their identity is in this other sin with a different label....well that's why I used the term "life-style"; rather than people reading "sin" & stop reading mid sentence I'd rather them continue to read.

In my beliefs and I’m sure these could be similar to Garrett’s. I’m Christian and I know he is. I think ?! But I don’t support the LGBT things or celebrations or anything of that nature. I don’t support it, I’m also not against it either ya kno. (the acting on ones homosexuality and pride of being attracted to the same sex to an extent because it’s not a sin to be attracted afterall), it’s a sin yes. I’m speaking in my POV, please don’t take this wrong... just understand. But this doesn’t mean we’re supposed to avoid these people because of their sexuality now. We need to welcome them in to our lives and treat them as any other with respect and everything. Love them and love all. You don’t have to hate something cuz you don’t support it :)

9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1Corinthians 6:9) The love of God is not a mere acceptance of lifestyle. Come as you are, but you must repent of you sins and put your trust in Jesus in order to be saved. I do agree, as Christians, we should not discriminate. We have a duty to help homeless people, gay or not, find safe housing and give them warm food. “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? 8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance....10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked.11 John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” (Luke 3:8, 10-11) God is Love (1 John 4:8) As Christians, we have a duty to help people, but to also tell them the truth. That a gay lifestyle is wrong, as well as a drunken lifestyle, lying, stealing, and being adulterous and murderous at heart. We all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:21), but we are made righteous through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21), by repenting of our sins, putting our trust in Him, and we should be encouraging others to do the same. LGBT are not excluded, their souls matter more than their own offense taken by the Gospel. 31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. (Luke 13:3) Edit: scripture numbers. Thank you for reading. Consider the Word of God, and seek Him and His will for you in your life.

My only thought on this while understanding the heartbreak it is to see a person destitute and even feel rejected is that in truth each case is to be understood relative to the one who actually kicks someone out of their home. I personally am a believer and stand by what the bible says on the issue that it is indeed wrong as is any other sinful act people may engage in. The difference is whether or not someone recognizes their behavior as sin or not and if their is repentance present even amidst the struggle. Kicking someone out so young may seem harsh but on the other side of things each relationship is relative to that parent and son/daughters relationship. Honoring ones father and mother could be the more pivotal issue in the scenario rather than this narrative of flat out rejection. Whatever the case may be, as an advocate of implementing boundaries to guide a child in the way they should go, sparing not the rod, and realizing the Lord chastises those whom He loves, I would say sometimes a penalty incurred by ones own actions is just as much an act of compassion as offering residence to the homeless. In other words our choices have consequences and while you cant control the various ways one might respond to the choice made, it doesn't help youths to negate responsibility for what puts them in less than desirable circumstances and provide excuse through victim mindset enablement that offers no correction and comforts them to the potential to go to hell. By comparison to hell, if homelessness is a way to offer correction, it's actually less heartbreaking to save a life rather than lose their soul. Just a thought.

I know its 2 years later but, "Our choices have consequences" being gay or really any other part of the LGBTQ+ community is not a choice. If the parents kick them out for how they were born and are thus repressing their identities, i dont see how you can put a positive spin on that. Hence the lyric "am I only your child if I live denied?"

@@jenroessen7100 I understand that standpoint but from the standpoint of understanding we are all born into sin technically we were all born with desires towards a nature that is antithesis to how God intended creation, but just because I have a desire to do something doesn't make it right or to find myself in a position where I am acting on desires that I have that are sexually immoral or otherwise, the act of participation is a choice, I may not choose how I feel or what I desire but even the essence of following Christ is to live a lifestyle whereby you deny the desires of the flesh and live out of your spirit and find more fulfillment and ability to truly embrace your God given identity in Christ not governed by what the flesh desires.

@@jenroessen7100 the better I understand the love of God the more my nature comes into alignment with what the Spirit desires, its not a question of the desires I am born with but rather being reborn unto God and living out of a nature of selfless love as opposed to self fulfilling lust in all its forms and expressions.

@@jenroessen7100 that's just my perspective, but I honestly mean not to offend, people can choose what they will, im not sure how i would handle things if I were a parent, I cetainlt wouldn't disown my child but as any parent reasons, many say my house my rules and if you don't like it when you're living on your own you can live by your own rules, but if im challenged by a rebellious child and unable to maintain order in my own household im not going to enable bad behavior and call it love while I watch the one I love live out of an ultimately self destructive nature, in truth the inability to accept how God created and intended sex and gender, is more truly a state of living in denial of who one truly is, how can the one created tell the creator he made a mistake when he made a man a man and a woman a woman? We now have an entire movement that aims to dictate how society operates against nature as God intended based on how someone feels or thinks and everyone in society is supposed to comply to delusion to alleviate a persons personal inner tension, at best you get superficial patrinization that aims to comply for fear of being labeled as bigoted, seems like prejudice and so called phobias are a two way street when many are so much about being an activist in defense of their own world view that they are threatened should a voice speak out in disagreement with another's ideology, seems like a reverse crusading of moral redefinition when often those that see themselves as victims don't recognize the ways within themselves that can be just as if not more hateful or predatory than the ones with which they say are those things.

in what world is this against the bible. The whole Leviticus 18 22 passage is mistranslated and never mentioned homosexuality in any way until it was translated to English. The original German translation by Martin Luther in 1534 the word used was "young boys" and the original Greek that it was translated from back then specifically says "boy molesters" referring to pedophilia. It wasn't until the mid 1900's that homosexuality was even referenced in the bible, and it started in the English translation. Older translations in other languages also translate this to mean the same thing (boy molester). Your Bible's interpretation was created in response to someone deliberately mistranslating to create hated towards the LGBT community.
