This is the BEST moment of the game. To the point where you are suffering the BTs and at the same time you are saying to yourself "WTF am I doing playing this?". It’s funny because walking around or travelling around a ton is one thing I find annoying about a lot of open world games, yet here, ironically, it’s the exact thing that i find so satisfying about this game. Every path is different, every path is a different journey, it’s just sublime.

Lost my mom and only parent at 16 so I’ve always had an unhealthy mentality projection about Big Boss. Snake Eater is a work of art and my personal Kojima magnum opus. Cried pulling the trigger on The Boss and I cried when I carried Sam’s mom up to the crematorium. And this game made me realize what I would do for my baby if I ever had one. I was so scared of starting a family especially in this fucked up world. But seeing how many single dads are out there that had it rough like me makes me realize our kids are gonna be alright. They got some fucking hero’s looking out for them. We aren’t bad people. Just had bad shit happen to us. Shit we won’t allow to pass onto our children. Much love in 2024 guys ❤️

Every time I speak to a non-gamer about videogames as an art form, I use this moment as a reference. The feelings that it evokes can only be conveyed by a videogame, and this is why I love DS. Few other games make me feel this way.

@@jehutyinp A wave of peace kind of washed over you. An oasis was in sight after a difficult climb, the music kicks in and you just know the rest of the way will be safe. You take your time walking down. Unsure of whether it's the music or the scenery that's making you want to make that last bit of the journey last a little longer. This is Kojima's masterpiece. I am a student, studying to be a programmer, and I love programming very much myself and study this field on my own. And I would like to be able to get a job at Kojima Production in the future. This game is amazing in everything, and I was especially affected by the ending and the whole upheaval of events. And if someone calls it a walking simulator, then you are deeply mistaken. You just don't appreciate soul games that are aimed at the concept of life and death. This part of DS deserves the attention of the whole world, and the second part will deserve the attention of the whole universe.

I feel Kojima sent a precise message with this game. Is not about pandemic, which started after release. It's his journey probably. He was rejected from Konami after long years of MGS, he found himself on difficult situation, alone with his newborn studio and in lack of funds. VG needs a lot of money. But then he was helped from many, like the cinema industry which adore him (nobody else could bring a cast like this, with crazy minds like Nicolas Refn, let's be honest) and so the unity and solidarity was the basics for this project. I think she wanted to express this on this meditative zen game, also the Kojima vision of the media. You cannot even die on this game and when things go trouble you get help from other players. It's highly melanchonic but also with a ray of hope. And this scene is absolute unforgivable. Very well played Kojima san, props to you.
