M1917 Enfield Suppressed, M1911 Suppressed, Flares, Trip Wire Bombs and as specialisations Quick Unspot, Slink and Inconspicuous. A brilliant combo for sneaking around and using the map and conditions to your advantage. Especially since Inconspicuous allows you to avoid being lit up on the map by a flare. If you stay quiet and low, you can avoid being detected at all.

They did do a very good job not making silenced weapons bullet velocity and bullet drop worse than the weapon without silencer, like they did in BF4. In real life, most silencers actually make the bullets go faster instead of slower😐.

With older weapons like the Enfield, it would make sense that bullet velocity isn't affected. Weapons like those in BF3/4 have access to subsonic variants of their cartridges, which when used with a supressor, make the shooter almost undetectable as muzzle flash and bullet "crack." Old .30-06 cartridges were not available in subsonic variants. The .45 ACP, however, is subsonic already, eliminating the need for a velocity reduction.

You could try the „sniper blurr“ (i think its called?) in the settings. that makes everything in your scope blurr out except the places where you will make a one shot. also, if you see an enemy that isn‘t moving at all, take your chance and aim for the head.

If you are not very confident in getting headshots, use the m.95 marksman. You will usually get the kill assist and deal more base damage then with one of the sweetspot snipers.

In real life suppressors/silencers increase bullet velocity up to 10%. That is why those earlier velocity reductions have felt weird.

Speaking from engineering terminology the correct term is "suppressed', because it was created to suppress the noise coming from the muzzle, but it doesn't make the gun completely silent(mostly because some guns have very loud action and revolvers have some flash escape from the cylinder)

Oh so the weapons with the suppressors are based in reality? In reality the addition of a suppressor doesn't effect the gun in anyway except decreasing the noise of the round being shot. Nice to see that has been taking into the game.

Like you said if you fire your weapon's you don't show up on the mini map so really use of a suppressor don't matter . Me personally I like how it looks on the 1911 care package skin and the sound when firing it .

Doesn't really make sense to make it harder to use, because as you've said yourself, there's literally no added benefit except the scope. If it were harder to use, no one would use it because half the scout rifles have scopes as well.

Go play hardcore. All bolt actions are 1 hit kill from any distance. Also the RSC is a 1 hit kill up to 150 meters.

Next modern BF needs minimap spotting for unsupressed weapons. I miss this mechanic from past BF games. It was fun to play around. Makes sense in a historical setting where supressors were rare, however modern should include the spotting and bullet velocity differences. It wasn't "realistic" persay, but it was *fun*.

Personally I love the M1917 Enfield Infantry, and I love that they added a scoped version. But it seems like they wanted to add a suppressor just for the aesthetics, as opposed to creating a new mechanic.

hi so i work at a gun range/ store in america and know alot about the suppressors or ''cans''. silencer is not a correct term cause if anyone has ever heard a real one it is still very loud (it only really allows you to take your ear protection out when firing without damaging your ears). so i wish in battlefield 1 or any of the battlefields that they would make the suppressor louder when your the shooter then what it is in the game. that's my only complaint about battlefields suppressors. what they should take away is the crack or whizzing sound of the round when passing your head when you are being shot at by someone who has a suppressed weapon (and they already do this so good on them) another thing is it wouldn't make the round go slower, it should make the round drop sooner, and it should make the range and accuracy better. now i know in gaming this would make the suppressor more OP so i can understand them not doing that. sadly hollywood has piss poorly shown what a suppressor is and what it can do. its nothing like the movies at all and because people think the suppressor is silent there is a heavy laws and rules when owning one in america when in fact there should be no background check and also year wait and paying a $200 tax stamp to own one in america when in europe you are considered rude for not owning one if your country allows you to own a gun. honestly the hoops to get one in america is so stupid cause you typically have to get a passport photo/ 3 forms of paper filled out and notarized/ and you have to go to the sheriff's department to get your fingerprints done and then and only then can you buy the $200 tax stamp to buy a suppressor. after all that then you have to wait up to a year before you can take it home and that is if the background check comes back clean (9/10 it will or you wont be able to own a gun) now i only typed this all out just to spread some knowledge about the suppressors to people who dont know alot or anything about them. this isn't me bitching or calling anyone out. just thought maybe anyone in europe that didn't know how it works over here would like to see the bs we have to go through to get one or any american who just wanted to know as well.

If possible Westie, I'd say jump on the NWG servers and give these a shot. Their settings are to the Hardcore mode which include no minimap, no 3D spotting, and reduced HUD. The silenced weapon in that game mode with all it's settings is deadly and annoying as all hell go up against. It would have been worse without the scope glint that is now standard on all scopes.

one thing i just notice about bf1, i almost NEVER used the minimap. I dont see a point of including it if there isnt auto spotting for loud weapons. They should have jsut gone with a compass along thebottom or top of the screen and just have the spotting points show up on there, as well as the objectives

Also i think the silenced sniper is better because if you shot at someone with a normal sniper and they miss then you would probably run away but since the sniper is silenced than people I THINK don't know I'm shooting at them do they stay in the same place

The issue with suppressors is the sound isn't really suppressed if you are using supersonic ammo. Meaning anything with more velocity than about 1000-1100 feet per second. You still hear the bullet break the sound sound barrier (sonic boom) which is pretty loud. If you are running subsonic ammo the velocity is naturally decreased as well as the baffling in the suppressor recycling the gasses thereby decreasing sound. But you have significant bullet drop. Dice got this completely wrong on the Enfield. The 1911 is somewhat correct as it was chambered in .45 which is naturally subsonic (usually around 900 fps) but it still makes more of a noise than these Hollywood types would have you believe. Average decreased decibels is only about 30-40 dbs with modern suppressors. How do I know? I sell em erryday

5:13 There is no benefit to having a suppressor in this game, nor do real suppressors have any effect on bullet velocity. Of course they didn't make it worse than the infantry variant for no good reason. And to anyone who plans to mention subsonic ammo, in all the battlefield games you still hear the bullet fly past you, even if a suppressor is being used.

The silenced enfield is too good when camping right next to ennemy lines and close to spawns. They rush foward and dont expect a guy hidden a few feet away. Being so close with a normal gun directly gives your position away and the samegoes for the 1911 especially when in prawn position

Aaron Lunzmann becuase realistically to get the full affect of a suppressed weapon you have to use sub sonic ammo which will decrease velocity hence affect accuracy and penetration affecting damage.

MB JediGorilla, There are some instances where rifle rounds are loaded slow to get below the sound barrier. For example 300 black out. More often than not that is not the case. You would never do that with a long range sniping round where velocity and aerodynamics are your friend. Modern day suppressors are hearing safe at well below 140 dB. Even with nato spec 5.56 and .308. Suppressors actually speed up the projectile not slow them down. A subsonic 338 lapua is not a thing that exists in the practical world. If anything the gun should be depicted as heavier and more unwieldy possibly. Maybe they could keep up the “slower and less deadly” thing if they had ammunition subtypes to choose from like subsonic loads. The subsonic rounds could be “silent” on the minimap and the supersonic rounds could be seen on the minimap at close range.

It is never correct to say that a firearm is "silenced" or has a "silencer". No firearm has ever been silent. When you pull the trigger even with a suppressor it still makes *some* noise, so therefore you cannot really say it's silenced. No, it's just suppressed.
