Wow - the last two went from being totally concerned about your welfare to almost accusing you of being a pedo. Just proves they're not interested in your welfare, they're only interested in incriminating/intimidating you. Disgusting behaviour. I love silent audits,.. would have liked to see longer walks of shame however. And of course to celebrate the decent officers, - always fantastic to see 👍 thanks for sticking up for our rights.

Might be nice to add. When they say "you can go on your way now" and they walk away, say to them "I'm confused I thought I was supposed to go"? It's broken the silence, but the annoyance of them might be worth it........

Well this is the first time I have seen anything like this and I shall be following 😂😂😂😂 It’s quite simple. You do NOT have to engage with anyone provided you are doing what is within the law. What you are doing here falls into that. Just minding your own business. They have a vi-viz or a walkie-talkie. And that is it! The little copper thought she would show the other one how to get a reaction…. ‘Leave this to me’ kind of attitude. And she fell on her arse also. Then trying the antagonistic approach using the word ‘underage’ got her nowhere also. Good for you in not biting! You have the right to remain silent. You also have the right to be where ever you want in public, minding your own business! I’m sure there must have been other things French & Saunders could have been doing than pestering you!

Its likely they do that as they know it's more chance of a payout as opposed to a stop and account type case. Always worth a chance anyway. Hope you find a solicitor that would take it on.

I always struggle with the fact that 90% of the security staff on UK sites seem to suffer from the same affliction. The inability to speak reasonable English. Broken speech, pidgeon English whilst interacting with members of the public. How do these people pass the SIA licence exams with this poor language level?
@JunctionWatcher
@JunctionWatcher Жыл бұрын
Conspiracy would say there are loopholes to pass… such as getting someone else to sit the exam for you… alternatively are these people paying SIA a subscription in order to be licensed? Is the financial interest of SIA to make sure they have a certain pass rate and maintain a certain level of accredited members?! As it’s home office funded are other governmental department such as the job centre exploiting SIA licensing in order to meet their targets?
@stevegee8010
@stevegee8010 Жыл бұрын
Apart from being so easy a 10 year old could pass without even doing the course, if one does happen to fail, the trainers will 'help' until the exam is passed. I've also heard stories of unscrupulous training companies who will take the exam for you. They are multiple choice answers exams with around a 55% score needed to pass, but the A, B, C, D answers are laid out in a way where three of the answers are ridiculous, so it's just common sense. Edit: The scary part is one could select up to 45% of the ridiculous answers and still pass.

@kylesanders9
@kylesanders9 Жыл бұрын
Brilliant comment and bang-on. And they can switch to suit their outcome. Back down to a bully and they feel good inside. A bully is basically a self-loathing individual. Therefore, by bullying you, they see you upset. Which makes them not the only unhappy person in the room. Stand up to them and they turn victim. They get someone bigger to bail them out. I stood up to really mean bullies at work. Not in a threatening way, just words. They then reported me to my boss. I stood up to the local bully where I live. The same. No one had ever done that. He called the police on me. He has a history and was warned to stay away from me by the police. Bully / victim in the same personality!

It was very telling that the first police officer thought that your motive was to catch them doing something wrong, which suggests to me that they are aware it is a distinct possibility. Also, it doesn't take a psychologist to work out that them playing up to the camera was a coping mechanism for them being internally angry at your non compliance. As for the shorter police officer implying that you had nefarious intent by simply exercising your right to record in a public space, I hope you have submitted a complaint to the IOPC.
@JunctionWatcher

I always enjoy the 'silent treatment' audits. However, I think that they're much more effective when there are 2 or more auditors holding a conversation. A silent single auditor may be perceived as being in 'distress' or having some other issues, while multiple people holding a conversation are clearly and intentionally ignoring the advances of security or police.

Yes indeed. It's better to work in tandem than be on your own. That way, the uniformed maggots are less likely to pull the "welfare check" bullshit and try to take you into custody for having a "mental health episode." Cos everyone knows it's strange not to talk to your best friends, the police!

If you read the legislation (section 35 antisocial behaviour, crime and policing act 2014) it’s very clear two conditions must be met: 1. A member of the public must be harassed alarmed or distressed or the officer believe they’re likely to be. Or a crime has happened or the officer believes it is likely to happen. (Simply a member of public must report or be subject to anti social behaviour). 2. The dispersal must be necessary to prevent the above from happening or happening further. As you point out all she had was that I’m walking on a path with sixteen year olds, looking around, and she’s not happy about it! It was only the taller one saying “do we have intel” that stopped her. Silly little woman.

Ah… she said section 35… which is a section of the antisocial behaviour, crime and policing act 2014 that allows dispersal notices to be given. The police unlawfully extended the use of this section beyond 48 hours. They were also applying it to anyone they felt unhappy about rather than applying the actual conditions as set out in the legislation. I’m currently waiting to hear back from a solicitor as to taking action against them for such unlawful activity.

The 2 WPCs at the end were on the riverbank outside Reading Festival (they put a temporary landing stage for shuttle boats coming up from the car parks, which is what gave it away). I suspect the reason they were checking in in the first place is because you do get a lot of people who are very drunk or under the influence on the towpath. Security end up having to pull a few people out of the river every year. Not sure why that gives the second officer permission to have an attitude like that, but I at least understand why they were walking up and down checking in on people
