Hey thanks for posting up this vid. Can you get the input shaft off by just undoing the countershaft without taking the output shaft glan nut off and all the rest?

Thanks for putting up this video.... Do you know what would cause my 89 2600i 4x4 5spd trans to loose fifth gear and intermittently reverse? it has 112k miles

+Mike Bartoli does it pop-out or just not go into gear? I'd say it is likely worn teeth on the 5/reverse shift hub and gear.

Lost second and third gears on my Mazda 5 speed installed on my ford ranger at 32000 easy miles. Under warranty or would have cost $1450. Got it back from ford and I could hear it grinding as I shifted. What a piece of crap. Traded it for a Nissan the next month. No more fords for me.
