Howard University Showtime Marching Band wears black to protest against the administration for failing to honor band members' music scholarships and general lack of financial support for its students. No stands or 5th period was performed.
The band performs the halftime show only because it wishes to pay tribute to the late Bob Jackson, dedicated Band Staff member/videographer, who passed away this past year.
