I have to agree. On one of them, the holes on the sides of her outfit were stretched right out much larger than the others. It was actually a distraction. They needed materials that would give, but not give out. 😕 A different kind of knit would have been a much more classier look for those young ladies.

@@maewebster9377I don’t know about now, but I had a soror and two friends who were dancers with the marching band when were were enrolled at Howard U 35+ yrs ago. The women who were band dancers had to AUDITION. Also women who wanted to dance another year, had to audition again. I attended one audition with my two friends and they like some of the previous dancers, re-auditioned, bec they wanted to be dancers for the new school year. So it looks to me, like these chubby dancers at ASU passed the audition, so they get to be dancers with the band. That is what I thought when I saw the chubby girls-they passed the audition, and apparently have the stamina to keep up and perform despite being chubby! If they can perform, NO ONE is harmed!

That cadence that’s being played, I’ve heard different versions over the years. The history behind that cadence. Came from FAMU by way of Master Sargent Henry McNair, who was a Drummer for Dillard High School. It’s his cadence and it was passed on by his percussion band mates,because he went to the Military. It’s his I was a member of the percussion section at Fam and was a personal friend of the family. Good job by the way. One thing fam don’t have is dancers. Dr Foster never wanted them, he thought it was a distraction from the band which was his main focus. Though he’s passed, the tradition is still alive, no dancers.HUBBA DOC.
