@UCCWmV7UKVh87RQYqYramSUQ i built an updated version of Silent’s two layer iron farm with one layer and a different villager layout. The farm still produces about 450 iron per hour, but the string is so slow. My brother built a spider spawner farm so they immediately fall straight down and die from fall damage in our new realm. So we had enough string after a few to several hours of AFK. I build a large field of bamboo and had more than enough after 3 harvests. I also built a stone generator and had enough for half the farm after about 30 minutes of AFK.

Anyone struggling to gather the STRING for this build, I learned an awesome thing accidentally that helped tremendously. If you break a cobweb with a sword, you get 1 string. But if you mine the cobweb with SHEARS, you can craft it into 9 string! I know probably almost everyone but me already knew this, but for those that are a derp like myself, this is insanely helpful!

That’s actually exactly how i got the string for my farm. A stack of cobwebs is basically nine stacks of string, or a stack of cobwebs can make 54 stacks of scaffolding. It was really nice because i found a mineshaft with a whole corridor of cobwebs like the ones with spawners in them, but this one didn’t have a spawner so i got all the cobwebs without having to deal with the baby spiders

This farm is good. Only problem I've noticed is in the corners of the trident killers spiders will phase through the corners and stay alive in the spaces where the repeaters are. To fix the problem I replaced all the repeaters in the farm with redstone lamps as they are full blocks and create a 2 tick delay. Also where the button is in the trident killer that stops the water from flowing out spiders could also phase through there as well so I replace the button with a top half slab and the items go through still. Hope this update can help some people improve rates. P.S stone buttons can be used to replace all coral fans in the farm mobs think they are full blocks and fall off.

@kjun59462 жыл бұрын
A few notes/tips: It does also function over a frozen ocean (just be mindful of potential water freezing while you build). To keep the freezing to a minimum while building, just start with ice (its much easier to work with for water sources anyway). Place down all the blocks you can (like the blocks that create the layer above, before you replace the temporary blocks with scaffolding). Also, place string above all of the leaf blocks if you build in a snowy biome to prevent any snow from collecting on the leaves. I'd also recommend placing down a hopper and a chest where your soul sand will go to collect any resources that happen to fall into your water stream if you don't place down the minecart hoppers and chests ahead of time. If you throw in your tridents near the beginning of your build and have it running, you can collect any string from spiders as you build additional layers. You can create a scaffolding platform to sleep and place down all your chests up at your afk height. I'd highly recommend sleeping as soon as you can during your building process because creepers blowing up the signs below and scaffolding is a mess to try and repair. This farm us much easier to build with elytra. I'd also recommend having some ender pearls in your inventory if you happen to fall off the edge into your trident killers because its very challenging to fly out with water at your feet.

Drowned now spawn in the water streams but it doesnt affect the flow of items. Adults also dont move from where they spawned so no consequences. Baby drowned can get all the way up the bubble elevator (not very common at all) but if you put the glass panes in the correct place you should be fine. Some loot can go over the minecart hoppers and avoid being collected if they are full so i added 2-3 hoppers just before (but not over the signs) and connected them to the rest of the item sorting and its never done it again. Spiders can escape the trident killer onto the secondary magma blocks (or just before as they take no damage. They dont go past there though so no danger to the player) but not sure if its because TKs broken slightly or because i fiddled with the repeater speed. Some loot and xp gets caught in the TKs but as soon as you turn them off and wait 30 secs at the most you get all of that anyway. Sorry if its long just wanted to show a few fixes i had to do due to incorrect building or recent updates.

Fix for not getting items: As of 1.19 I don’t think this trident killer allows items to escape because the pistons fire out of order and make the water disappear (the waterlogged stairs says waterlogged). To collect the items you need to have a mine-cart with hopper underneath 1 of the 4 packed ice blocks of your trident killer, leading to a hopper line to your item collection/storage system. You still want to have the water streams shown in the tutorial because they can still bring the exp to you. Hopefully this helps if your wondering why you aren’t getting the items 😊

I made one of these that doubles as an automatic raid farm. It detects when a pillager banner is dropped, then a mine cart takes you to an artificial village area where raid mobs spawn and get killed by another trident killer. The whole thing is on a timer so a few minutes after the raid is done you get sent back to the main mob farm until another pillager banner is dropped and the process repeats. You can leave it overnight and get more totems of undying and emeralds than you know what to do with.

As of 1.21 I can confirm it still works well but there needs to be additional changes. I'd suggest placing some doors to gain access to the trident killers since there's a bug that makes tridents fall off blocks ( even solid blocks ), that helps you with retrieving your tridents whenever you're done using the farm or throwing them back to use it. ( you may place an additional platform underneath the ice but I am still unsure about it because tridents can clip through multiple blocks at once, at least that's what i know at this point )

The second side is rotated, not mirrored. The water stream will be offset to the one side if you rotate it. I suppose you could move them in line, but then you will have to 'mirror' the design which is usually not easy to visualize mentally. That means if you follow the tutorial, you will have to build the left-side trident killer on the right, and vice versa. It's just easier to copy the design to the other side and make a little zig-zag in the stream

Things like your storage system or how you travel to get to the platform or AFK spot (minus the elytra). Thank you for all of your tutorials and guidance. People like you make this game more fun and interesting.

I built a simpler but similar farm in survival - JCPlayz’s “Simple Creeper Farm.” I learned a few lessons I’m willing to share. First thing you do - CRITICALLY - is use Chunkbase to identify the precise x and z coordinates of the chunk intersections and WRITE THEM DOWN, and I do mean write them on paper with a pen. If you have graph paper that is even better, it helps to draw along with the video and solidify designs in your head as you go, and thus reduce the number of careless errors you will make. It does “slow” things down initially, but the overall time spent will be reduced. From there, I built a proper structure in the sky to act as a base. I used primarily stone brick variants (cracked, mossy) to give it more of a natural feel. I put torches on the roof corners of the base to prevent mobs from spawning. As for transportation, I started with a basic pillar and ladders out in the ocean, and paddled there with boats. I had a bunch of boats because they used to disappear, but Mojang has fixed that as of 1.18.10. Eventually I built a portal road at the top of the nether, and now have a portal inside the farm base. My storage system is simple, just a chamber full of barrels. I physically move items from the collection chest into the barrels. Its a creeper farm so it’s only gunpowder, but occasionally a spider or zombie will spawn. I also recommend against using glass ANYWHERE mobs are to be spawned or killed, because I sometimes log in with my phone and controls are touchy, I accidentally knocked out a glass block in the creeper kill chamber, and just like that, they blew up the farm. Major grief. Fortunately I own the realm, it’s private, and nobody else was logged in so I restored from a backup. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but I made a decision in favor of mental health. Scaffolding is definitely your friend. If you have access to the nether, then netherrack blocks make an EXCELLENT partner for scaffolding (scaffolding cannot extend past 6 blocks horizontally). Keep a flint and steel handy and you can light the tops of netherrack blocks anytime you need light without fiddling around with torches. Lastly, I DEFINITELY recommend building a fishing farm directly within your mob farm where you can fish while standing in your AFK spot. This just adds to your food supply and increases the usefulness of your farm, as you can get some treasures from fishing.

Also.. I saw an old comment about people struggling to get string and breaking down cobwebs. This no longer works as well as it used to. I built an EXTREMELY simple spider spawner farm using cactus and got all the string I’ll ever need over 1 night of AFK. Be aware though, since there is no player damage, you will not get spider eyes from a farm like this.

I built this farm on our server about a month ago and it works great! This week while planning a separate copper farm I realized we could use this one with a few changes instead. Since we built over an ocean all I had to do was modify the top layer by breaking the slab roof and remove the scaffolding. I also added in another 2 rows of signs to stop the bottom layer of water from spilling over. I left all the water sources where they were. This will probably hurt the rates for everything else somewhat, since we are using only the cave cap for the 'normal' mobs and the surface cap is being used by the drowns. We still get more of everything than we can use, plus we get copper, nautilus shells and tridents out of the same build.

Hey! I’m having a slight problem at the Trident Killer area. I’ve built both Trident Killers correctly, but only the l left one seems to work for some of the time. When the dropper gets updated by the redstone, all the pistons go off in order, but after that they just stay the same. If I update it up close, it’ll go on forever. The right one just completely doesn’t work though, even after switching the dropper and repeater. Something to note: I’m playing on Nintendo Switch (:p) with a Sim distance of 4, so the pistons get pretty laggy, which I think is the main culprit of my problem. I’m fine with keeping the farm on all the time, but I need to know a fix for the right side. Thanks!

I just build this and took me almost 3 days to finish it and it's works fine, if you guys have problem with your farm or something please watch this video again and also if your trident disappear i recommend using trident without enchantment and also if you want to make item sorter too in this farm then you have to remove the minecart with hopper and put hopper around your afk spot (don't break the trap door just replace these block around the trap door with hopper) and i recommend to have 4-7 allay so they can grab item that you want from this farm and they drop the item to you but the item they drop will got sucked by hopper that you build around you and if you see the xp don't go into you then don't worry i think it's just a bug because my level increase without the xp in trident killer room going to me or you can see it by yourself when afk and then see your xp it's increase or not and also if you have problem with the sword or armor going to your hopper then put 2 trap door below your trap door afk spot and put them facing each other (i mean put the 2 trap door below your afk trap door and don't worry the water don't disappear if you put the 2 trap door in the right place and put 2 trap door facing each other and put 1 trap door below your afk trap door and put again 1 trap door facing below trap door that below afk spot) and open it then the sword and armor or non stackable item got stuck in there (if the non stackable and the sword or armor can still reach you then break these 2 trap door and put it again with different direction) and don't worry the allay can still grab the item that you want even though they stuck too in trap door (if your allay stuck below the hopper then put some solid block below the hopper and around the hopper and don't forget to put slab to prevent mob spawning in the block that around the hopper) and again open the 2 trap door so the xp can reach you but not for non stackable item (there is a small chance too non stackable item like sword or armor can pass the trap door but don't worry it's a very small chance) and sorry if my english is bad and thanks to silentwisperer for making a good farm

@monkeyporche2252 жыл бұрын
I have the same question, so upvote and comment so we hopefully get an answer
@phierophreek90882 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the slow reply guys, but I figured better late than never. Yes and no I would think. The tinted glass will block light from entering your layers, but you will still need to make a roof over the top layer. This could be done with leaves as Silents does, or using tinted glass, or you can use layers of water like FoxyNoTail does for his mob farm. Check his TB playlist for this season if you’d like to see a great example of the water roof. Surrounding all the layers in tinted glass should keep you from needing to make a big roof, you’d just need to make one to cover the top layer I would imagine. I haven’t personally tried this, but purely based on how the mechanics are designed to work, you *shouldn’t* have any issues. No promises, however, as Bedrock can be quite unpredictable at times… I hope this helped, and if I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to message me or comment back here!

Pro tip from and for console users who can’t use resource packs and don’t have the brain juice for coordinate stuff Once you find a chunk corner (easy enough with just a calculator app/website for that) and just go north/south 16 counting that corner block as 1 of course. Now use a different material and go 16 more blocks out, alternate like Silent did with glass, but use whatever is easiest to obtain (using bottom slabs will not spawn mobs so that’s your best bet. Another pro tip for easier/more efficient counting, put the amount you need to count out in one slot of your hot bar and just build till you run out. That also makes it easier to switch materials precisely when you need to the game and they all deserve such tips!
