@blackhawk158972 жыл бұрын
Kinda made a hybrid of design 1 and 2. It has 8 sugarcane and each has a bone meal dispenser, but there's also an observer at one end so it harvests periodically, providing a passive source of sugarcane when I don't put bone meal in. Also, observers can detect when the bottom sugarcane changes its growth stage, so you can actually place the observer below the piston and compact design 2 down to a 2-high farm.

for the last design (ultra compact), how many items should be in the hopper clock?
@neilpeart9322 Жыл бұрын
***⭐️ NOTE : if building the ultra compact replace the walls with signs (only have to do top row) in 1.20 the items will get stuck on the wall, still basically lossless. Also he didn’t mention how much time is on the hopper clock, after some research I found that two hopper clocks paired together to get around a 12-16m harvest time is optimal ( could be wrong)

Just for fun I turned the repeater down to its slowest speed and just left the farm on (the mini farm that needs bonemeal ). In a few hours it produced a stack of Bamboo and about 11 Sugarcane (as I have a farm for each of these items). So it's nice to know I could get "something" from these mini farms when I'm bonemeal poor.
@pandashark072 жыл бұрын
You could get more by setting up a separate hopper clock with a longer timer to allow things to grow more. Every tick the pistons are extended is a tick the plants can't grow, so you're essentially cutting your "rates" in half for the non-bonemeal part
@nightshadefern1622 жыл бұрын
For the observer based farms... its efficiency suffers because the cane has to be three tall before it triggers. A single observer looking at a daylight sensor or a hopper clock trigger can boost its output big time and its cheaper to build.
@everyonestech2 жыл бұрын
Hmm Never thought about that. Good tip!
@silentwisperer2 жыл бұрын
when you harvest, either 2 tall or 3 tall doesn't really matter. Only matters in farm size and resources needed. Also if you only let it be two tall, then you are much less likely to get lost items!
@novaenricarter7052 жыл бұрын
@@raymondstheawesome That's what I thought
@nightshadefern1622 жыл бұрын
@@raymondstheawesome Try a side by side comparison. My good guess is that the clock based farm (observer looking at a daylight sense) will produce 25- 35% more over any given span of time vs a three high observer growth farm. (A hopper minecart on tracks under the sugar cane dirt block so both versions are lossless).
@carlogeuna22112 жыл бұрын
There's actually a better disposition for dirt blocks/water sources in the flying machine one. I'll try to explain it here: basically you start from a 2x2 square of dirt blocks, then for one of the two blocks on each side of the square you place a water source making sure that each block has only one adjacent to it. That is going to be one "slice" of the farm. What you have to do next is put all the slices next to one another making sure that each water source has 4 dirt blocks around it and each dirt block has only one water source next to it. What should come out is a pattern where the sources are on a diagonal that would connect the angles of a 2x3 rectangle (i don't know if it's clear but that's the best way I can explain it) I'm not sure about what this would imply with the redstone, but is shouldn't change much, if not at all. Hope this has been helpful :)
