to the problem with loading the material: You can actually press the load button before you put in the Material. There is a sensor on the left half of the machine (little square) wich detects the material, so you can use both hands for loading it in.

good honest review, I was thinking to get this cause last time I used was the Cameo 3. I never really trust the sticky mat, so i always put 6 small masking tape around the corner and edges and never had a problem with it.

Yes, that eraser issue drives me nuts! I literally have to open another program just to erase and then back to silhouette to finish up... ridiculous. Also I have the 12 inch version of this and the Cameo for some reason every now and then cuts the mat versus where I have the vinyl. It's showing correctly on screen in the program but the machine does its own thing 🤷🏽‍♀️. Please don't get me started on the Bluetooth issue.🤦🏾‍♀️ Nevertheless I love it when it does right.

Bluetooth on mine loses connection half way through a job a lot of the time. Seems a bit flaky. I don't use it any more, life's too short.

I read that you need good lighting so the machine can see what it’s cutting. People add an led light strip above the cutter for when it’s operating

Same! i have a roland bn20 which works perfectly great print/cut on my vinyl. then may suddenly my roland cutter broke. the replacement i ordered will arrive in a month. so i bought this cameo 4 pro... damn! what a nightmare. vinyl not cutting perfectly. material always sliding even with the mat.. damn. and also having a hard time reselling this piece since it is expensive compare to the smaller cameo 4

hi mike the other thing is thick card stock it wont cut, what other blades are available do you know ,i was frustrated because i couldnt get it to cut then it cut the first and the second would not, what can i do.Thank you for the review.

#REPLAY Three years later… why did you try to load the vinyl onto the mat with the mat right up to the front of the cutter? That didn’t make sense to me. Three years later, I’m planning to get this cutter on Amazon Prime Day 2024. I’m already using the Cameo 4, and I love it.

I was super excited when I purchased this machine some functions I didn't really get until after making this but my judgment still stays the same 3years later still don't like this machine, I still have it but as of now it's just collecting dust 😔 After as many attempts to properly aline the vinyl on the matt that's were it ended up

Use scotch tape at the edges. I never use the tacky part of the mat.

$799? Nah... retail has been $499 since these were introduced. They're finally back in stock pretty much everywhere, so the prices are holding steady at $499. I do agree a stand would be great. These are just too big for a tabletop machine.

For the eraser problem just scale the design bigger until the eraser is the size u need it.

I tried that the erase method used to stay small when you would zoom in and all though the have the eraser function able to scale down its still huge when the image is zoomed in I ise 4.3 and 4.4 silhouette design on 2 different computers Thank you Greatly appreciate you ! Use the auto-feed feature. so you don't have to handle it with both hands.

If you make eraser 1/2”, it’s gonna get bigger if you zoom in. That’s what happens. It’s still 1/2”.

Does the grid on the screen in the program represent 12x12 or 24x24?? If I fill up my while screen, does it fill the whole 24x24 area, or would it just cut in the top left quadrant? (The 12x12)

I get it now.. but also, the "AB" Portrait vs. Landscape, I used to see that on my Cameo 3, but never knew what that was b/c I was always on a 12x12, but it all makes since now..

My mat does not stay straight. What am I doing wrong with the loading. It doesn't seem like the right side of the mat is locking- even though its locked

Have you done the firmware update that gives you 5 seconds to load the mat? I am having issues when I set it to double cut, even with a 12” mat the registration on the second cut is off.

I did the firmware install and yes that works but to cut with registration marks I haven't been able to use that so I tried with off set around designs that worked !!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for watching !!!!!!!!!!!!!appreciate the feed back as well!!!!!!!

MIke Question , Did you ever get answer on the overlapping issue. I just purchased my machine 3 months ago . Ran less than 12 items cut , and now getting over lap and misalignment during the cutting sequence. thank s FRank

I reinstalled 4.3 but then it wouldn't work on my cameo 4 pro so I had to put 4.4 back on the Mac so for right now I ONLY use it for 4 a single decal at time imma make another video over cameo 4 pro !

@@MikeTees so I'm getting the overlapping as well and it has to do with feeding into the machine and the rollers that pull it in. I just got mine and was so excited. The roll feature was what I was after as I had the 4 with the roll feeder and loved it. The pro does not pull and advance well at all. I'm trying to find a solution.

Your supposed to be able to not use the mat but if you don’t it’s just a mess and waste of vinyl time and money.. Finally got it to work right for a while and now I’m having blade issues keeps saying carriage 1 no device found after I just successfully cut tried everything to fix it so now I’m waiting in line to hopefully get some useful info from silhouette and I’m in the middle of doing a big order for a client 😩Got in Jan sad all these issues for 500 I have to find something better and more reliable ASAP... sorry about the rant..lol Great Video tho appreciated 👍🏽

I do it with offset you can try with the registration marks but for some odd reason my registration wont work I have cut through a design !!!!!!!!

the three is great, I have a 3 and a 4. I'd have had another three if any were available when I wanted a second machine. Not much difference that I can tell for what I use them for.

So I just bought the pro and love everything but the roll feed advance. It does not advance with roll feed very well at all. Silhouette company has been less than helpful.

@@HeatTransferWarehouse I use 12” and 21” on the roll feeder and when I am cutting it does not advance well and it puts my spacing off on my design as it is cutting. I have the pressure slide in the right position but it moves anywhere from 1/4” to 1/2” side to side or doesn’t advance straight.

Honestly I only use silhouette to cut out my designs, I use correl for everything else like designing and actually editing, only use silhouette to cut out the finished product, way easier that way, not a good program to design on at all. I also don’t use the Mat it comes with and I upgraded my vinyl, use 3m or orocal not that Michaels crap, that vinyl isn’t quality and it doesn’t work good at all, it’s to thin and also cuts horrible, but 3m vinyl is good and same with orocal. But yeah loose the Mat and the other pieces, you don’t need them trust me, mine works fine.the rest of the pieces are crap.

I have cameo 3 cameo 4 cameo 4plus and the pro , but when it comes to vinyl cutters there's several like Roland gtx or vinyl master ultimately goe with what you can afford or what works best for you , Thanks for watching Greatly Appreciated!

Nothing pro about this machine. It's very amateur and not exactly a great machine. I've had one for awhile now and it's frustrating at times. Bluetooth range is comical. Invest in a Graphtec or Roland if you are using this for anything professional. The money you save on wasting material and headaches will be pay you back the difference.
