I could never get registration to work consistently. I added two LED lights shining down into where the blade is. Wala! I also stopped using Silhouette mats and started using thicker mats. That's helped get it to go in evenly.

Thank you for this video - I thought I was the only person having problems with the Cameo 4 Pro. I'm having no end of trouble with mine (sketch lines are fine but cuts are all mis-aligned. It seems like the mat slips when I try to cut on the 24in mat but smaller mats seem to work okay), and am in contact with the Silhouette Support team. I received my machine in March, but have yet to make a successful cut on the 24in mat, which is frustrating because I upgraded to the Pro to be able to make wide cuts. Your video has given me hope that issues can be resolved!

@@brettpassmore6070 it transpires that the mat that came with the pro was too flexible and thus was sagging when I attempted cuts. Our retailer provided us a new mat and we've been fine since!

I have also been using an older (dark blue) Graphtec Craft Robo Pro 2 for several years, but the drivers don't always work well with Windows, especially Win10, so I usually use my Cameo (1) most of the time for decals. I've been hoping to get the Cameo 4 Pro for quite some time but it just never quite fit into my budget, until recently. I noticed the recent flash sale and I jumped on it. Pretty bad that it took Silhouette three months to resolve your situation, when it was something simple....the blade. That should have been the first "fix" they should have recommended. I love your "famous last words"....my family says that too! 😁

Yes it was a chaotic time. To be honest, I still have issues with the machine - mainly cutting long designs. I will be phasing over to the Cricut Romeo soon, it has much better accuracy in my opinion.

Cost and it only being a hobby to me was the deciding factor for not going to the pro but did move from the portrait to the cameo 4... sorry if this sounds bad...but I was glad to see that you had a problem from unboxing...mine unfortunately was from being a typical guy...don't need instructions... machine needed firmware update and the usb connection wasn't being recognised...of course I contacted my seller who put me in touch with silhouettes sister company here in the UK and they had my machine for 3 months..but got it back and it was working...until it needed another firmware update...when I first set it up Bluetooth automatically came on and set up went ahead...so usb set up never got done...so I had to uninstall everything... reinstall making sure Bluetooth was turned off... actually turned it off on my laptop as well...did the usb set-up then switched Bluetooth on then did the Bluetooth set-up...like yourself now have the machine showing twice...usb and Bluetooth...took over a year during lockdown to finally get it sorted... So now you know why I said it was good to see you also having a problem...can I also say your unboxing and set up was the best in showing how to step by step... though sorry you didn't also do the getting the free designs etc as there is bound to be those setting up for the first time...or have moved from a different machine.. That said keep up the good work..

OK, so I have had this for 2 plus years and never really worked with it. I just bought the Cricut Venture. IDK what I should do with the Cameo Pro ( Should I keep it?). The software was a tough learning curve so while I love the design store I couldn’t do it

I've been eye balling the pro just because of the size. I wouldn't use the huge width but very rarely. I see alot of people have issues with it. Would it be better to buy a plus vs the pro? Just to save on issues. Thanks!

I would either go basic or pro, not the plus. I still use my pro simply for the fact that I can keep my 20-inch pieces of glitter htv in sheets longer than a foot. You can't do that with the plus, since it's 15 inches. If you're rarely using the width to its potential, save the money and get the basic.

My Cameo Pro didn't cut properly and had serious issues with registration. Returned mine and got the cameo 4 and had ZERO issues. Theses pro models are known for faults and told by seller that multiple units have been defective and returned.

The Cameo Pro is great for crafters who want to move to a bigger machine without the intimidation of other software. However, it uses a stepper motor and its slower than other industrial machines. If you are going to be going to a higher business level, the Graphtec or Roland 24 inch machines are great ways to get in.

Actually I realized that the sticky mats ruin the elasticity of stretchy fabrics, and since these cutters need the sticky mats, they just don't work well with stretchy fabrics, the actual cutting worked well with the rotary blade though

i have had mine for a few months. I do not use a mat. but some of my designs it will move the carriage all the way to the right of the machine and start cutting from there, even if my settings are for a 4 x8 , positioned on top left of material view. I am not a proficient user however why are some designs doing this and others are not.

Yes! But I have to use the mat to cut the entire 24 inches. I did cut some nice decal vinyl at 22 inches wide recently, but I was nervous!

This was a tough issue to solve remotely. It's typical when there's a big release, they need to get a lot of information. No biggie to me anymore.

Can you look at the defective blade and see what the problem was ? Why was it defective ? is it possible for you to see ? can you take it apart or cut it apart and look to see what the problem was ? Do you have a favorite forum you go to to ask questions ? How long will your cameo 4 pro cut and specifically how thick of material will it cut. ? Sometimes the manuals do not disclose these things. Does the word pro in cameo 4 mean that it is a 24" ?

I think it had a small crack, but to be honest, I didn't get a good look before I threw it away in frustration. haha. The cutting time varies based on frequency and materials. For example, vinyl doesn't wear the blade down quickly, so at least several months. Things like paper really wear them down, so it could be faster. The Pro does mean its 24 inches 😊 There are also a ton of great Facebook groups, including mine linked in the description.

I am trying to cut without a mat on 24" wide vinyl. I keep getting a message that the selected media is too wide to be used with the specified Silhouette. I have the Cameo Pro. I have no idea what's wrong.

A couple things: 1. Make sure your Cameo Pro is connected and selected. You may need to click the button at the bottom of the send panel and select the Pro. 2. You may need to update your mat or media size. Make sure you have the 24 inch mat selected. Let me know if either one of these help!

I just came across your videos. Where is the SN etc info for my the machine so I can register my new machine. I got mine yesterday. I haven’t set it up yet. Do you know of a very affordable stand that is workable with the cameo 4 pro? I’ll be watching your cameo 4 Pro videos. You’re very down to earth, I like that. I also have to learn the software silhouette business. I need to do scanning in stamped and cuts that I cut from paper craft dies (to resize them as needed). My machine was on back order for 2-1/2 months so I hope I don’t encounter blade or feed problems. Thanks for your help!

The SN should be on the back of the machine. I don't necessarily use a stand, but I like to have a desk to put it on. This lets me turn the machine if needed, and it's a bit more steady. Always here to help! Feel free to join my Facebook group. It's linked in the description.

I already use the Silhouette Cameo 4, but it’s time for a 24 inch cutter. I also need a wide format sublimation printer. Epson preferably. I inks are much more affordable.

You will never be able to do a print and cut job with thick cardboard , as you can do with Cameo 3 and 4

It's the same cutting clearance. You can certainly do it.

@@LisaPottsDesigns It's not all about the clearance. They should improve the rolls pressure: the mat keeps on slipping and often the cardboard gets stuck under the carriage, every time the sensor tries to read the registration marks. I've heard so many testimonies about this issue...
