All you would need to do is have another device available to record as you play the voicemail clip that you want to capture the audio from & then email the recorded clip to yourself & create the soundwave from there. I hope this helps !

Thank you for the great tutorial! I'm not sure if google drive has changed, but after I send the voice memo and save it to my drive, when I try to open the file it says "no preview available". It keeps wanting to open it through my Apple Music. I have the option to download the memo so I do. Was able to get a link and QR code but when you scan the QR it again says no preview available. Yes, you can use a Cricut Air to make the designs, however, I'm unable to help you in what steps you need to take in the design process since I"m not familiar with the cricut software. As for the recorder, there are several you can choose from you can google free desktop voice recorders for windows and several will come up. =)

Yes ma'am, as long as you can play the video or the CD and use your phone or another recording device to capture the audio, you can certainly get the audio from the voicemail or CD ! Just play video or cd & hit record on your phone while the audio part you want to record is playing, once you have captured the piece you want to create, click done on your recording and finish the steps to create your soundwave, etc. Its very easy ! =)

Hi Darlene ! Sorry to hear you are having trouble ! For some reason, over the past week or so, google isn't allowing people to shorten their URL's. So, we are having to leave the URL's long, which is fine, we were just shortening them for simplicity. So, just skip the step where it say to shorten the URL & go straight to creating the QR code. If you made the QR code using the shortened URL, you will, sadly, have to redo it with the longer URL since Google is disabling the shortened URLs that have been made recently. When I contacted them, they told me that it is a glitch in their system that they are trying to fix ASAP ! When putting QR codes on mugs, be sure that you are putting it on more of the 'straight' area and not on the more rounded area. If you put it to where the QR codes rounds out more, the QR code reader doesn't always pick it up properly to read it. So, if the shortened URL wasn't used to make your QR code that you put on the mug, then that may be the issue. Please let me know if I can help you any further ! I'm always happy to help anytime !

maria ervin as long as you created the qr code as I show you I the tutorial and you Do Not delete the audio file from where you put it, all the person will have to do is download a qr code reader and scan the qr code and they will be able to listen to the audio clip. Hope this helps!

I am wowed!! I had seen the sound waves, but never thought about being able to add the audio and hear it!! How?? How can it be played with no speaker?? The qr code that you would create & add to the piece of art that you make. When you explain it to your customer, you tell that you can include a qr code that will allow them to listen to the audio clip that the sound wave was created from, however, they would need to download a free qr reader in order to hear it. They would scan the qr code & they can hear the audio clip anytime. Now -- you as the creator of the qr code -- where ever you save the original audio clip (in the cloud as I mention in the tutorial) HAS TO ALWAYS stay EXACTLY where you uploaded it OR the qr code will stop working. So, just be sure that you never delete that audio clip from where you put it. That's why I recommend making a new folder for audio files & be sure to name the clip exactly what it is & for who it is for. =) I hope I didn't confuse you. =)

The device to play it on would just be their phone. The qr code reader is an app that they download their phone. =) The audio file would need to saved to a cloud storage drive that would allow you to get a shareable link (url) in order to create the qr code. Once you get that url from the cloud, where you store the audio file, you can't delete or move the file or the qr code won't work.

Hi Esme ! Sorry to hear your QR code is saying disabled. I'm not sure what could have happened. I know last week there were some issues on the generator when people were shortening the URL's for some reason so I just had them leave the URL's long & create the QR codes that way & that seemed to resolve that issue. That very well may be the issue in your case if you shortened your URL where your audio clip is. Did you shorten your URL when you created the QR code ?

You can use any color of vinyl for the soundwave and the wording. I recommend using black or a dark vinyl for the QR code so that the QR code reader will read the code properly. I hope that helps !

thanks so much for you tutorial, its amazing. I was able to do it first try, but now a day later when i try to open up the QR codes i made yesterday that worked fine will not play today. I get a message that says " Whoops! There was a problem playing this audio file. I tried to have my sister open it up and it wont for her either ( android users) but My daughter who has a I phone can still open them. I have unistalled the QR reader, I have remade the files, and still get the same message.If i click on the download option on the QR scanner( on my phone) I get web page not available ERR_too-many_redirects.. hmmmm, not sure what's going on. I just scanned all of my codes from the video & they are still working perfectly and I'm using an android phone. Okay, when you save your audio file in google drive, you went to share & created your link & then went to the qr code generator that I used in the tutorial, correct ? If so, did you click on shorten the URL before continuing ? Also, make sure that you have not deleted or removed the audio clip from google drive after you have made your share link.

Depending on what the customer wants, I may take the canvas off & do a reverse canvas but you certainly do not have to do that. I've done the canvas with HTV without taking it off of the wood. You would just place your HTV & press with your heat press for 5-10 seconds, 2 times, remove the carrier sheet & then do a final press without the carrier sheet. As for the adhesive vinyl (651), I do not normally seal them with anything, however, the one of the baby heartbeat I showed in the tutorial, they requested it to be sealed, so what I did was after I had all of the vinyl adhered onto the canvas, I let it 'cure' for about 12 hours (overnight basically) & then I took Krylon Colormaster Gloss Crystal Clear spray (in the spray paint section at Wal-Mart) & lightly sprayed the canvas going in one direction, from top to bottom. I let that dry for about 15 minutes & went back & did 1 more light spray. Be sure when you spray you don't spray too close to the canvas or it will cause puddling and it will ruin the piece & the vinyl will curl up. Anyhow, after it was dry it looked fabulous !! =) So, it is totally up to you if you seal them or not ! =)

You aren't bothering me one bit ! =) Normally I do paint the canvas with at least one to two coats of acrylic paint. You certainly do not have to paint the canvas, however, if you are using adhesive vinyl if you paint the canvas it will help the vinyl stick better ! =)

make sure that you aren't enlarging your qr code or it will come out super fuzzy. If you need to, use your snipping tool or screen shot the qr code in order to make it to where it isn't too small for you to trace OR zoom in as close to the qr code as you can get & then trace it. Once it is traced, remove the original that you traced, fill the trace with black color & then enlarge it to the size you need. I always tell people NOT to cut their qr code larger than 1 and a half or 2 inches in size or it won't work properly with your qr code reader. Try that & let me know if you need any further help ! =)

HI Katie ! It really depends on what size the customer wants and what all they want on them. I don't sell them smaller than an 8x10. So, If I have a customer that wants just a single sound wave and no qr code, single color, I charge $10 -$15. 8x10 with sound wave and qr code, single color is $18 and the price point goes up from there. Of course if they want an image put in with the sound wave and personalization, the price goes up a little. I won't do an 8x10 with multiple sound waves and qr codes simply because, in my opinion, its just too small to show the sound waves like they need too, if that makes sense. I always work with my customers & try to work with their budgets but you also have to remember not to short change yourself & your work as well. the QR code does NOT expire, however, if you EVER delete the audio file from where you created the url link from to create the QR code, your QR code will no longer work. So, as long as your audio file stays where you originally put it, the QR code will always work !!

so after saving my QR code i scan it and it says 'there was a problem playing this audio file' but there is an option to download it afterward..Im just hoping my parents who I was going to send this to will not have that setback

Did you create a static QR code when you created it or a dynamic QR code? Now, this might now be the issue but I'd check this first. Sometimes people don't realize they created a dynamic QR code & if they did that's a BIG no no because it will expire BUT if you created a static QR code, it will never expire & won't expire. Now, if this isn't the issue, it could be sometime as simple as the QR code reader that you are using isn't a good one, etc. Either way, I can help you figure this out. =) Just let me know.

hmmm, that's odd. I have a samsung phone & save to my pc all the time. Maybe try to play the audio file & just do a screen shot of the audio wave from the recording app & then take that screen shot into studio & trace the sound wave that way.

Great question, if you don't have google drive, you can either sign up for a free google account & then you will have access to your own google drive at that point OR you can use onedrive. Hi Lynette ! What you can do, is have your customers save it to their google drive or their one drive account & have them send you the link to the soundwave they saved & then you can turn it into the qr code that way. If you save the soundwave in your google or one drive & make a link for it to make the qr code, if you EVER delete the audio file, the QR CODE will NOT work any longer. So.....you have to be careful not to delete the files where the links are if you are saving them or have your customers save the file & send you the share link so you can create the code, etc. I hope that makes sense. Do you need a google account to hear it? My husband tried the one I created and it asks him to sign in with his google account. He doesn't have a google account

No ma'am. You are going to have to go back to the audio file, click on share & then make sure that you selected "ANYONE WITH LINK CAN VIEW", this will allow anyone that has the QR code to listen to the audio file without having to have a google account.

The qr codes I have downloaded don't automatically play it it pulls up the url then you have to select it and sign in with gmail account. What am I doing wrong lol?

make sure that your audio file didn't save as an m4a file. I had another lady have the same issue and it was just simply that the audio file was saved as an m4a file and in order to play it, it had to be downloaded, etc. instead of just scanning it and hitting play. The file needs to be saved as an mp3 or mp4 file in order to be scanned & you be able to hit play once scanned. =)

Hello ! It should save automatically when you save it, however, if it doesn't, you can take your saved audio clip & go to this website --> audio-converter.online/ and upload the audio file & it will convert it for you into an mp3 file and then you would save that mp3 audio clip. angelabarker1 make sure you have saved your audio file either on google drive or one drive and used the link under the share option for that file to create the code. Dont delete the audio file fro that drive or the qr code will not work.

Try using a different QR reader app. That happened to me. Download the one called "QR Reader" NOT "QR Scanner" or "QR Code Reader"

google drive or one drive are the two cloud drives I recommend. Unless you use another cloud drive that allows you to share files & lets you create a link to that file, those are the only options that I know of.

Hello ! You can use tinyurl.com/ to shorten your URL as well, if you'd like & then take that shortened URL over to the QR code generator & create your QR code from there. You just wouldn't hit SHORTEN URL from the QR CODE generator since it would already be shortened. Hope this helps ! =)
