Thanks for sharing! I used to run the cider press at Lattin’s. I started collecting oysters. crabbing, and razor clamming and it’s so much more fun than I thought it would be. I just got my pole to go after the rock bass now here soon and you got me more stoked with those tacos they looked so good! Thanks for the gulp worm tip!

Happy to help! I’ve fished a lot of jetty’s from Westport to Newport Oregon and that was the best rock bass fishing I’ve experienced. Hope it’s the same for you!

@@SilhouetteOutdoors right on! I go surf at westport but I had no idea there were so many different species I could target in westport alone. Crab is my favorite food too, so I’m set locally! But what is living without new experiences man! Gonna go explore the NW for waves and fishing opportunities!!!

Thanks for the video. I was there the first of September. Caught a monster red tail perch - probably 16-18 inches. It's always fun.

Your welcome!! I caught a couple big perch, was so fun actually getting into the perch. And we must have caught close to 100 rockfish in those 2 days, just an incredible fishery.

That paler smaller mouthed rockfish Jess caught around the 5 minute mark is a Blue Rockfish. Really similar to Blacks but that smaller mouth is a dead giveaway. Cool video.

Thank you! Ya, I had to look it up after the trip.,I don’t believe I’ve ever caught one in Oregon. Pretty awesome to add a new species to the list.

@@derekmcmaster6123 nice!! Much cheaper if you can make your own gear. I usually just make an annual trip to Westport. I just got back from spending a couple of days over the 4th and the highlight was a couple of huge lingcod! One was 41 inches long

Is this the north or south jetty? Thanks for your effort to inspire the rest of us...! Much appreciated...

There’s only one jetty in Westport. There might be one on the other side of the bay. But just one really long jetty at Westport. Lots of real estate to fish!!

Hey have been fishing there recently? im thinking about heading out there next week but I'm not sure if any fish be there this time of year.
@SilhouetteOutdoors6 ай бұрын
There’s fish out on that jetty year round. They do how ever have a season, but it started back in March. I’ll be out there in a couple weeks. Very curious to see if the surf perch are as thick as in July. I would watch the forecast for wind more than anything. If it blowing, it’s really tough to fish.. Good luck!!

How far are you walking out on the jetty. Do you loose a lot of jigs. I am headed out to Westport in the end of April And just need some advice
@SilhouetteOutdoors8 ай бұрын
You don’t necessarily have to walk way out there.. We did fish beyond the siren. But my best day was well before it on the north side. And you lose a few always, I wouldn’t go out with less than a dozen just in case. Good luck!!
