Fan TAS tic! I enjoy Lincoln and visit there for my parents. I've noticed the stores getting hipper (Whole foods, Trader Joes, Fresh Thyme) and the downtown area being reinvigorated. What I would REALLY like is a decent home on an affordable scale, something you can't get in CA, Seattle or Portland.

This is cool and all, but honestly every city claims to have a great tech scene and claims to be a "silicon ___". I have lived in Lincoln, it doesn't have any more of a hot tech scene than any other place. After moving to Seattle which truly has a massive tech startup scene second only to Silicon Valley I have to laugh at what people in Lincoln think is such a unique tech environment.

+Josh Murfield I'm not sure you grasped the tone of the piece. The point was to say, and show, that the coasts are not the only places to breed tech innovation in the country. It also potentially bridges an unspoken connection as to why Nebraska has the second lowest unemployment rating in the nation. The reason this story came along, was to address how quickly Lincoln is changing and has changed, due in part, to these companies. It wasn't to say that Lincoln is the new Mecca of tech (I don't know when or for how long you lived in Lincoln) but, it is astonishing how much growth is coming to an area not commonly associated with a migratory, business and technological boom like this.
