Silk press using L’Oréal steampod

I LOVE my steam pod! And the built in comb piece? A work of art. What I do to get it silky straight without having to use another straightener is to make sure, when blow drying my hair beforehand, I get it as straight as possible (my good ole conair infinity pro comb dryer does a great job with that) and then after straightening, immediately wrap my hair. Ideally keep it wrapped at least overnight but even an hour will help the hair cool down and set and I’m guessing let the hair cuticle close up so it won’t be as susceptible to frizz. In terms of getting the root straight, I either just hold the iron as close to the root as possible for a few seconds for it to start steaming and that gets it pretty well, or I’ll grab my regular flat iron and tap only the roots FIRST and then go in with the steam pod after. That way, I still get silky straight roots but the rest of my hair will only have the steam pod pass through and I get zero burnt hair smell! Hope this helps! I’m constantly battling the humidity here in Florida lol but doing these things have worked pretty great for me

Sooo pretty. I just had a change of heart about weave and decided to just do me✨ How does your hair compare with this vs a regular flat iron?

My hair feels more moisturised than my titanium flat iron. Although I will say it gives more of a kinky straight texture compared to a regular flat iron.

You’re using heat so not really ‘healthier’. I believe my hair feels more moisturised when I use this compared to a regular flat iron but the silk press doesn’t last as long x

If you takes smaller sections and go SLOW if will definitely come out silky. I've never had my hair come out poofy with this iron on any of the heat settings and I'm a 4b.
