Thank you for making this amazing virtual tour. It's really easy to follow. Can't believe you can cover so much info in a 12- minute video.

I LOVE this! I learned more about the Silk Road than I ever knew before. Actually, I didn't know anything before, so that was a pretty low bar to cross, but I'm still grateful. Great job, Clayton!

It's amazing that merchants were able to travel such tremendous distances by horse and caravan. I complain about a 16 hour ride on the Greyhound. Much respect to them.

Thank you for this presentation. It is truly amazing :) Currently, helping my daughter with her history project and I suggested that she writes about the Silk Road. I have been fascinated by the Silk Road history since I watched a presentation by History Channel when I was a kid :) A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit Turkey and during one of our stop our guide showed us one of the caranavasi that still stands till today that on along a route of the Silk Road.

Thank you for this great video! It provides lots of information while being very interesting :) On a side note: How amazing are the opportunities the internet gives us for making such videos? And also in preserving history - to think of the sights in Palmyra, which sadly don't stand anymore but we can see here.

You should realize that almost 1000 years of history of Central Asia is not mentioned in Western History books. But this continent is on the rise and will be leading in the next centuries. Read Peter Frankopans book

Crediting Alexander is more than misleading. It's revisionist history. The Mods were the ones who established the trade route.
@claytonbrown84286 жыл бұрын
Crediting Alexander's conquests with "widening existing trade routes" is "revisionist"? Watch the video again--I never suggested he personally started the Silk Road. Rather, he forged the Hellenistic world.
@LibertyForIran20226 жыл бұрын
Clayton Brown The word you used was "established ". That's more than misleading by 3 centuries.
