@ Except actual folklore depicts his kind as being uncaring and rude most of the time and elias is no more evil than any fae creature. If anything, his capacity to replicate human emotion allows him to feel guilt and grow, which most fey cannot do. There are many fey that continue to kidnap and devour children or take humans at their word to cause misfortune that spriggan will not rebuke. It's only because elias is a half thing that likely attempted to build a human shell for himself to be more human that spriggan dislikes him, his reasoning is just as petty as any other fey. Elias is abnormal and is therefore pitied and despised.

here is an idea that I've been thinking around since red hair and green eyes is a little uncommon in Japan would it be jumping to conclusions if Chise may have had ancestors in England Ireland or Scotland and that the people in the house is her ancestors that could explain why silky is behaving like that around her she recognizes her as a member of the family line that she was meant to protect

So she's a banshee who turned into a sub-type of brownie (fairy) called a silky, not a selkie, named Silver Lady. I think I got it now. :P I love this show so much. The animation, the music, the attention to detail in the folklore and characters, it's just so great!

Darkrunn theres more to it than that, in traditional irish folklore banshee’s were not screaming ghosts that caused death but in actuality they were almost like fairys attached to a family and when a member of the family died banshees would wail in grief of the dead announcing it. So the familys they found were actually close to the banshees. Thats why silky was crying. How ever you thought on brownies are a good point!

The author confirmed that the design and temperament was based on 'The Plain Doll' as the author loved the game and to pay tribute Silver looks like her. So you don't have to be rude on my comment because you believe you know better when you clearly have done no research into the subject. Also for your information the outfit attire that Sliver wears is wrong for the time period as women did not wear pink in the Victorian era as it was improper pink was actually worn more by men than women who were advised to look at pale blues and green for their attire not to mention that the country in the Victorian era was placed under mass morning thus many wore black. A bonnet was also not worn with that attire as the dress is too high of quality to be worn with what would be described as a farm/peasant head wear. Women of lower class wore bonnets higher class like her dress wear hats. Her attire has little application to the world.

I call bullshit. I am not finding anything from the author saying she was based on the Plain Doll. Just that she looked similar from the wiki. On top of that the manga, which this anime is based on, existed far before Bloodborne's release. The Ancient Magus's Bride manga started in 2013, Bloodborne was released in 2015. Show some actual proof before you make claims like that and do some actual research that's not just a fan wiki. I like both characters too but ''roasting'' someone over something fabricated is kinda shitty.

Silky was originally a banshee (google it, would take too long to explain). Banshees all have a family they're attached to, and they can't survive long without one. Unfortunately Silky's had died out completely, leaving her wandering alone, with no purpose and little time left. But Spriggan found her, and saved her by changing her to a Silky (a type of brownie, a household spirit) and giving her a new house where to live and serve.
