Great saw. I have an earlier model of the same silky saws that I had for several years and the cutting teeth are still holding up very well. You've got a good father's day gift.

You will never want to use Batco or any other saw again. I have had Zubat now for over a year in my search and rescue pack and a Bigboy 2000XL in my hiking pack. Freaking amazing saws.

Looks like you made a great choice Dave. I'm going to get myself one of those..it's time. Will have to wait for a while..maybe a birthday gift from my kids. I have and use the same Coglans saw you have and it's getting old. Great review. That saw processes wood like a power saw! Seeing the material fly off that blade is awesome. Cheers 🇨🇦

Happy belated Fathers Day, Dave. Nice looking saw. I have a Silky Ultra Accel, which has a curved blade like the Zubat. It seems to be a very efficient design. Like you said, no downward pressure, just pull, and boy does it bite.

I would like to ask a question. What is your opinion of it a year later and is 30 bucks a good price of a second hand saw?
@aaahbeeeh33744 жыл бұрын
so, now ive got one, too. i like it, a problem with the sheath is there: the top part of the sheath is full with deep scratches from the blade, shortly after use. its from putting it in and outside. is this a common problem? i mean cant be, the user is forced to put that saw in the right angle every time.
@tiborbencat98195 жыл бұрын
Hi Dave. good choice I think. I have silky F180 (long like laplander) and I like it a lot. I also thing of buying a new bigger saw, but in my case I probably end up with boreal21. because the blades are much cheaper. Use ypur silky well, its a nice piece og gear
@TheDaveDryden5 жыл бұрын
I understand the reason for getting the 21. Something I didn't mention in my vid was the replacement blades
@tiborbencat98195 жыл бұрын
I did dull ma blade in 1 year, so its a long time, and i cut dead standing qaks and hardwood with it so fairly impresive in my book, but still 15 euros for a new blade. and its small blade. but in performance i thing you could not go better. it cuts like crazy. I decided to deferenciate my saws. F180 is perfect for backpacking and hiking and boreal will be perfect for camping and bushcrafting trips I hope :)

Hello, what model is it? 330-10 or 330-7,5?
@jonjaudzems44283 жыл бұрын
I have a 330-7.5 saw for green wood & 330-10 (fine tooth) back-up blade, for harder wood. Standard order usually presents the ZUBAT with 7.5 (teeth per 30mm) quote "It is available in 5 different blade lengths (240mm, 270mm, 300mm, 330mm and 390mm) and comes with a standard 7.5 teeth per 30mm across the range. A finer blade configuration is also available, the Zubat Fine. " unquote

Hey Dave. Great vid, however I feared for your naked flesh so close to the blade. I've seen some TERRIBLE injuries from other saws, but one from any SILKY blade, could easily leave you LIMBLESS in an instant. I even use a welder's type leather glove on my support hand, for better protection.
@turtlewolfpack60615 жыл бұрын
I can second the useless nature of the Bahco saw, over hyped and over priced garbage. When in the woods you carry the largest, most efficient saw you can. Ive carried the Cohglans Sierra Saw for years and love it but when it comes to saws size matters.
@TheDaveDryden5 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, so useless I forgot it in the woods after the video. Id leave it there if I didn't feel guilty about littering
@turtlewolfpack60615 жыл бұрын
@@TheDaveDryden lol! Yea littering isnt good. Last weekend me and some friends went out to Landslide Lake here in Alberta and we found a ton of abandoned stuff. Even a pair of almost new snow shoes.

Very good present and review, you will be happy with all aspects of what this saw is produced for. I have the www.google.com/search?q=silky+sugoi&oq=silky+sugoi&aqs=chrome..69i57.18388j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8, for several yrs. now and have no complaints. Does yours have a diagonal blade tip for cutting vines , small brush, roots ect. ? It is a very helpful bonus for camp and trail prep. Be safe , ATB.

you are cutting pine, man! most of the pieces you cut are not even 5 inches in diameter and very dry. if you have to cut some serious wood, that's green or even wet, that thing is useless!
@cristiandemirel19184 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why people go in the forest with pruning tools, talking about survival. Wait!... I know!.. is because they think that with a pruning tool they can cut enough wood for a night long fire. Well... you can't!
