That Library event sounds GREAT! I joined 2 quilt groups and I don't even quilt. They do charity sewing too. That's how you meet like-minded crafters. It's fun! You will love it. You could bring stuff in the car and then check it out and see what you need there. Bring a small iron. I always bring an extension cord. You look cute. 🥰🥰

Great idea! That was I can be prepared without having to lug everything in. Plus I feel like I’m going to overestimate how much I’ll get done, and bring too much anyway. I’m very excited to get to meet some other crafters in my area!

LOVE the hair! I just lightened mine so the purple shows up better, but now I'm really liking it blond 😂
@ErinSews11 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m a big fan of the pink, but purple sounds so vibrant and fun too! When the stylist lightened my hair, he said he could probably get me platinum but that felt TOO crazy for me 😂 Keep yours blond for a while!

I love your hair! I’m 72 years old and a few years ago I thought how cool it would be to put purple streaks in my hair. Crazy, huh, for an elderly woman to do that. But my family was so sweet and a lot of them went with me. My daughter got purple streaks, my granddaughter did too. My son-in-colored his beard and my hubby colored his mustache. Our white dog even got a purple Mohawk. It was so much fun and I had no regrets!

That is such a fun story! I absolutely love that everyone got involved (including your dog 😂). I think it’s awesome that you put purple streaks in, even as an elderly woman. The “rules” are all made up so we should just do what we want, but sometimes that’s hard.

Hi Erin. Love your new hair! It suits you. Sounds like you had one of my weeks! I put myself through so much stress with last minute ideas… that I have to rush to finish. Don’t feel like you’re alone. I love the mug rugs. I have found oxy-clean to be very good to remove colors… and tea stains. I have a Snow White table spread (I can’t spell doiley 😂) Greg has spilled tea on it several times… leaving it very discolored. I soak it overnight in Oxy and so far it’s still snow white. Praying for your family member, you and Brady! ❤

Thank you Diann! I’m really loving how vibrant it is and it feels very ‘me’ even though it’s new. Ugh, the rush to finish is the worst! Mistakes just seem to snowball but then I dig my heels in and, well you know, it just goes downhill from there. Oh good idea! I’ll try the oxy-clean. Nothing else is working… Thank you for your prayers Diann, I appreciate it so much.

I was the only sewist there, so unfortunately I was kind of off to the side since I didn’t bring a SUPER long extension cord. Thankfully, one of my subscribers actually came by, so that was fun! I overheard some of the crochet and knitting people mentioned sewing machines so maybe they’ll bring theirs in next time and we can all play together! lol I called like you suggested, and it turned out they didn’t have an iron or anything, so I brought mine and it worked out really well!

Cute hair! I love you can have any color you want now. Don’t stress that you have to bring something for a hostess gift . It’s not at all expected. love Notions and Patterns for Pirates also have free legging patterns for children

Thank you Kathy! I’m loving the color so much! My Mom isn’t as big of a fan 😬🫣 You’re so right about the hostess gifts. I feel like they get brought up during the holidays, but that’s usually just from people peddling their Amazon store fronts. For some reason it felt ESSENTIAL to bring one 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for the suggestions! I’ll definitely check out those patterns too.

Sounds like a frustrating sew! I like the wavy lines on the mug rug. Next time you want a little hostess gift on short notice get a grocery store flower bouquet for the win 😂. Sorry you had such a frustrating week.

You’re so right! Literally anything that didn’t involve me trying to start a project from scratch in 2 hours would have been a better idea 🤦🏻♀️🙄 I really appreciate your sympathy 😊 Thankfully it was just a lot of little annoyances and nothing truly awful!

You might check out Vicki Walsh's tutorial on saving a bleeding quilt ? It has saved me a few times, with strong colors. Not sure if it would work or not, but thought I would suggest it.

I am sorry for your family member’s health situation. How thoughtful and considerate of you to take time away from your daughter (and Adam) to be there with them ❤ I commiserate with you on that type of collar. I made a similar collar for knit pattern B6858 view B. I thought it was going to be so cute and thought I had everything lined up right, but…meh. I got a small pucker on the right side and it doesn’t lay flat. I tried taking it out and redoing it once, but still…meh. It’s hanging in my closet, I never wear it, and I get disappointed every time I see it in there 🫤 A closet sort out is in order, but…meh 🤷♀️😜 Same as you I’ve tried to make something at the last moment that is going to be “quick and easy” (famous last words!) and it turns out to be a major dud and waste of time. Your mug rugs are cute and salvageable though! Your hair is awesome! I always wanted a pink stripe in my hair but never did it. Have fun at your library event!

Thank you Michelle. I appreciate your kindness and know you understand it. I’m going to miss them a ton, and it will be really really really weird to not wake up and hear Brady in the mornings. I’m glad I’m able to go though. Yes that’s a very similar collar. I want the edges to be really crisp but I’m scared to snip in more and then end up with a worse situation. I would say just to get rid of that one item, but who just donates one thing? You need at least one garbage bag that can sit in your trunk for a week before you remember to stop at the donation center….or is that just me? I just donated the bags from my December clear out this week. Maybe just get the bag started with that top, and toss other things in there as you realize you don’t want them anymore. Yes! We should know by now to never ever say those dang words. It’s never quick, or easy lol. I do really like them now that I’m doing the binding properly 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you! I’m loving my hair 💕It’s never too late for a pink stripe! The hairstylist actually suggested clip-ins from Claire’s if Brady shows interest in colored steaks when she’s older. He said they’re not amazing quality, but are really fun and do the job! I hope I meet some cool people, or at least have fun for a few hours. I’m sure I will but I’m nervous 😬

You crack me up…. I soak the fabric in ‘Wash away’ . Not just wash but soak, I LOVE it, and the first time I needed to do this was when me Dad stuffed my ‘Le Koala Le Tough’ shirt when I was about 16!!! Try it again babe!! I know exactly how you feel about this… I did it with my son when he are a little younger than Brady, massive separation angst before I went away.. and was good while gone until I landed back home… and saw a young child ran to their mum that was with me while away… explosion… good thing nower days is you can FaceTime… back then I had a mobile.. one of the first you could take pics on…. Go with your feelings don’t try to stop them honey… and before you know it you will be back home ❤

Right back atcha! Honestly we’re the sewing comediennes that no one asked for 😂 I’ll have to look into “wash away” because it sounds like genius stuff. My burning question though…did it save your koala shirt??? I’m definitely thankful for FaceTime, especially now that shes at an age where she gets it a little more. I feel exactly how you described…so much sadness and anxiety about how she’ll feel without me. I don’t want her to be scared that I’m gone forever. I’m doing the ‘right’ thing and I’m so thankful for my mother in law, but damn I’m going to miss that little tyke so much!

@@ErinSews you might find that you will be busy, carrying the load of where you’re going, that you will find it not as hard.. and its not because you don’t miss her its because the expectation you had isn’t as bad. Think back to when you joined the military, you would have been ummm ‘nervous’ (polite word)and in your head you would have worked it up… and then it wasn’t that bad… The Koala T… oh yeah babe, he was restored to white… sworn by that stuff ever since… BUT SOAK IT… ohh and it smells like farts!

You’re right. It hasn’t been as bad as I thought it would be (only a day in though). I know she’s so safe and loved, so that’s good. Good to know it smells so bad! I found it on Amazon so I need to order it

Happy Friday Erin, I ruined a sweatshirt this week. I wore it house cleaning and got scrubbing bubbles on it. So it’s got a bleach stain on it. 🙄🫣why would I clean in a handmade sweatshirt?! We all have our moments I guess. But I guess it the smooth and the rough in this life😊

Ain’t that the truth! I even thought, “maybe I should do separate loads…meh it’ll be fine.” Ugh! I’m sorry to hear about your sweatshirt! That’s such a bummer. Scrubbing bubbles are no joke!
