Hey, my friend, what about the quality of the materials used in making the dashboard ? Is it better than the part that came from the factory? Are there colors other than black?

I replaced it with another OEM factory part, so unless its some kind of redesign (which it doesnt appear to be) its the same identical part as what came out of the vehicle. And yes i think there were other color options available in these vehicles.

I watched another video on repairing the dash, and he used some homemade abs plastic and fiberglass to reinforce it. if I replace mine, I would do that to it to ass some strength. then get one of those carpet dash covers to keep it from getting cooked, kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3ynZWyGh86Cm7ssi=-w5o5BjebNk1rGQ4

I think General Motors did a redesign of the materials of the dash cover. Was it the early years 07, 08, 09 that had issues with the dash covers? I’m not sure if the 10-14 years had issues as well.

I thought GM stopped making these cause of the law suits cause of the cracking. did demand make them start producing them again? if you do this in the future, I would take the steering column plastics off, it isn't that hard, I have done it

Im not sure about that. They are still available from the dealer which is where this one was obtained.
