I agree that Solo's performance was top notch but I also think Juliet's curious yet gentle performance was beautiful and echoed a rare sense of empathy often omitted in interactions like this, overall one of my fav episodes for sure, esp the ending crane shot with them just sitting, powerful

This true. But sadly I feel as though Solo might turn on her and thus she may have to end him/Solo sacrifices himself to let her live(or leave the silo)/he chooses not to leave out of fear. The actor portraying Solo is fenomenal. For that alone, I think he might have been that kid in the flashback. It also makes sense if he had to survive while growing up all alone. Willing to suspend disbelief on thr actor's actual age because he's great

Well for me with the discovery that Ron was head of IT and that IT might actually really be running ALL the silos over their respective judges it’s fits the theme perfectly if he has a suit, wouldn’t doubt if it’s in the order book since he follows it so closely

Interesting. However, Bernard was already head of IT. The dead mayor was a 40 year incumbent. She would have known about Ron Tucker. Unless she was part of the whole conspiracy. (Disclaimer: I have not read the books)

Its crazy how in each silo only two ppl know about other silos an have access to the vault room. If Bernard died without a shadow no one would have access to that room. I wonder how succession to have access to the vault room was initially selected.

Our control rooms at work are, sealable and have sleeping areas and a kitchen, bathrooms and food stores so our engineers can seal themselves in if needed. They can last quite a while in there.

So, episode 1 of this season I was CONFIDENT I had seen 2 instances of ‘17’ visible in the episode. Turned out one of them said “IT” and the other was just me hallucinating. The episode was SO dark I saw all kinds of things. Imagine my surprise when this episode confirmed it was Silo 17.

Judging by the way silos are grouped, looks like there are 2 silos which are separate from the rest - I guess silos 1 and 2 are where the creators of silos are, who are monitoring and orchestrating things happening in the rest of silos

They could be in communication with each other but from what been shown he most likely found out about silo 17 situation due to the camera in Juliette suit because he was watching in ep2 when she entered silo 17 ( idk how he knows it’s silo 17 )

⁠Given that Solo knows there's 50 silo's and which ones are nearby, it's becoming clear that there's a lot of info in that Vault or in the Order about the bigger plans. Since Bernard (and Meadows) also have access to their own vaults, we can assume they know the same things.

The people who created the silos (we now know there are 50) are poor psychologists if the same pattern of rebellion occurs in many of them. They should have done a better pact or better system.

I'm familiar with the books so without spoilers, just know there are bigger twist coming. Bigger twist, if the producers don't stray too far from the book (please note, they've strayed from the book but not significantly). Key takeaway from this episode was the vault. Also, I don't believe they have revealed the actual timeline of events. Thats why it's important to look at the differences in technology and how they contrast between IT and what available to the common people.

@@jblove53 The synopsis of the books is easy to find and I read it all. IMHO, this is a plot hole from Hugh Howey. For example 'the syndrome' which exists in the TV series but not the books is something Apple wisely added and he should have seen coming.

Juliette comes out of Silo 18 which causes an event to occur which is almost exactly the same as what happened in Silo 17 25 years before. IMHO this is something predictable enough to warrant a set of solutions better than 'prepare for war'. Unless the objective is to see how long exactly before people revolt.

He’s at least morally questionable. He’s ok with spying on everyone, forced sterilisation, walking Juliette out in contravention to the Pact, manipulating the citizens with unequal information, murdering the mayor (if I remembered correctly), all for what he thinks is the ‘greater good’. He said in his speech the ultimate goal is to get out, I’ve not seen him do anything towards that. Everything he does is to keep people in the Silo.

He is not evil but he is so short -minded and uses his powers wrongly hurting other people because he has the certainty that what he does is correct, he doesn’t trust anyone else, so that makes him bad eventually.

I love the atmosphere in ep.1 (Alice in Wonderland) and glad to see that this atmosphere came back in episode 3. (ep.2 was junk). In Japanese anime, their version of Alice would usually be sexually abused by the hentai guy or the monsters in the wonderland. In ep.3, they implied that Solo is likely a hentai guy so... it is going to happen on Alice..... which is what I have been expecting to see in this series.

I think it’s interesting that he has a latin name when this whole surviving population is US English speaking. Makes me wonder whether he knows it isn’t an English word and if there are other language pockets in any of the Silos? I mean, Atlanta is a pretty diverse community.
