I do not think that the breakup is the thing that happened to Meadows all those years ago. I think the breakup was just apart of the fallout from whatever event occurred to her or someone close to her. Bernard also asks her what occurred over those 4 days and where she went. There’s still a lot to that backstory that we don’t know i’d say.

I don’t think Solo is hiding anything in particular in the vault. I think he’s just been trying to follow the last instruction that he was given: to not let anyone in the vault. I think he’s struggling with trying to connect with someone after being mostly alone for so long.
@ChristopherHaileyАй бұрын
You don't make vaults for no reason. I think it's because of the knowledge of why silos are the way they are is the secret in there
@Yggdrasil42Ай бұрын
well from Bernard's vault scene in s2e2 we at least know that The Order is supposed to be in there, along with a bunch of numbered drawers (or are they servers?) containing who knows what. So plenty of secrets about the silo and the outside world.
@godblessthelessfortunate3175Ай бұрын
I think the plot twist is Solo is originally from another silo, not 17. He was the Shadow for Head IT and for whatever reason was sent out. He knew about the tape and was able to survive to get to 17. He used the numbers on the chalk board to help figure out the vault pass code. He killed the recent corpses lying near the vault and replaced them as the king of Silo 17. He is using Juliet to help get the firefighter's suit because he couldn't have done it alone. Now he will try to kill Juliet and take the suit for himself. I predict Juliet will survive. She will later figure out the passcode using the numbers written on the board. If Juliet doesn't kill Solo first, I'd expect to learn about Solo's back story and where he came from, later this season, perhaps next season.

@giulianomarcoАй бұрын
I've been wondering the same. Solo is impersonating the real Cole Myers. He attacked the keycode's surrounding concrete (he's got anger management issues). He's likely on the "spectrum" so could crack the code given enough time (9 years for the 4-digits he enters), and refer to himself as "we" on the double doors. The bodies in the server room in boiler suits and boots are Russell & Cole. Solo killed them after breaking into the vault in a fight that caused his heterochromia. But... the numbers on the chalkboard are all 6 digits, starting with 55????. Bernard's code is 5 digits long (?-2-8-3-9) which just confuses things even further!

1. Solo is not hiding anything particular. I think his vault is same like the one Bernard was in. Full of information and vt masks with Costa rica jungle on them. That is how he learned all of it. I don't think he was a shadow I think all he knows he learned from the vault. I think he just has serious ptsd that is keeping him inside. Also,where would he go? 2. Bernard would not have touched Medows if she didn't want to go outside. 3. I hope Nox and Co. will hide under the silo, where the digging machine is,I just find that place interesting. However they can not go too far. Eventually they will have to fight and that is when Juliete will swoop in and stop the rebellion.
@sopyleecrypt6899Ай бұрын
Solo is childlike because his social development was arrested when he got left alone. The rebellion happened when he was 11 or 12, based on their discussions about the school room. I don't know if Steve Zahn is playing his age, which is 57, but either way Solo has been alone for decades. It's been thirty years, at least. The bodies in the hallway are not as old as the ones outside, so my guess is that there were some who were left behind when most people charged outside, including Solo. I don't know how, but Solo ended up being giving the task of protecting the vault. He locked the other remaining survivors out for some reason - maybe they threatened him, or maybe they were planning to take the food and try to go outside? Anyway, he locked them out and they eventually starved to death. That's my guess. I don't think there's much in the vault other than the supply of food that must have kept him going for 30+ years. Maybe some historical artefacts like a book about circuses. But otherwise...Probably nothing important.
@Yggdrasil42Ай бұрын
Well The Order is likely to be in there. As well as the voice controlled computer that Bernard used to watch Juliette walk outside. Probably plenty of other secrets. But yeah, what is left after decades of neglect?

I think solo is the boy that was taken in the beginning of the silo 18 rebellion. I think he's been there since he was a child. Some people may have survived but died as a result of him being told not to let anyone in. He may have also been the reason why the remaining silo residents died.

My friend's theory: Solo's father was the original overseer and left him "in charge" of the vault, a place with plenty of food and water, with the intention of keeping him safe from the rebellion. Father never returned. My theory: those bodies outside are people who stayed in the Silo post rebellion, watched everyone die, and tried to get answers. They kept trying to break in (hence the codes on the chalkboard and the writing on the wall) But they ran out of resources and died much later on. He was not alone the whole time. He's nervous about Jules trying to trick him to get in, because that's what the people were doing before. They could have been trying to crack the code for 10-20 years.

Good recap, and this was definitely a very good episode. Hopefully, the foundation has been laid, and the remaining episodes will "play out" the narratives, and conclude satisfactorily. As to your questions. I believe Solo is guarding the same information that's in every silo--the book, "The Order," as well as the storage cabinets similar to what's in Silo 18. There also must be a food production capability, since Solo has not exited the Vault in decades. Also, what about the bathroom waste & a shower? To the question of Bernard letting Meadows go free: of course he never intended to do so. Similar to her gambit of forming a committee to plan outside exploration; Bernard hoped he could stall Meadows on the idea of going outside long enough for him to talk her out of it, or she would change her mind. That's why he's mad at Sims. The impeachment forced Bernard to act--and, following "The Order" there was only one solution, Meadows must die. Finally, Mechanical understands their leverage--cutting the power. So, if the "Mechanical 4" who are being chased by the mob is injured or killed, Mechanical will mess with the rest of the silo dwellers by endangering their very existence. This could be a different type of rebellion--not physically fighting the mid and upper levels, but forcing them to negotiate. AND, if Juliette returns to Lead Mechanical, there's a good chance that Bernard has to do the unthinkable: share power. I haven't read any of the books, so I could be completely wrong.
@roscoecluckingchicken3672Ай бұрын
Solo's Artificial Intelligence, lacks human empathy, causing friction. His "eye" likely refers to his visual processing or perception, which may be flawed or limited, contributing to his emotional blindness. This would make the chatacter Solo childlike, but rich in the history of Silo and the outside world.
@ChristopherHaileyАй бұрын
That's really a stretch, but interesting
@kevinschweitzer9821Ай бұрын
You say towards the end that no matter what the leaders of the Silo did, they would face a rebellion. And that might be true. But I also think this episode shows how leadership's efforts to quash rebellion, by scapegoating Mechanical, is leading directly to a rebellion, because once they've turned everyone else against Mechanical, the people in Mechanical have no other option but to rebel.
