it's called playing dirty. technically soldiers in the battlefield often pretends to be dead so they can ambush the enemy soldiers and kill them if they get a chance to do so. some even pretends to do this in water to make sure it's way more convincing. well you can use this if you're in a tight spot and want to escape or just wants to ambush enemies really.
