Silong Sa Ganding demonstrates the beauty and grace of a Maguindanaon woman in the Philippines as she effortlessly moves like the swaying coconut trees in the wind and the gandingan gongs in a kulintang ensemble. Its name is derived from silong, which is a rhythm of music played on the gandingan, a set of four shallow-rimmed gongs played in a manner "imitating the human voice". This dance is a very demanding dance of discipline because the hand positions and placements required are very precise.
