I absolutely love going to yard sales or estate sales to look for rare items for my collections and to add silver and gold into my reserves. I got some of my most valuable items from those type of sales. I got an original German WW2 officer's ring from a garage sale. The family was selling off all their grandpa's stuff including his entire WW2 collection. I spent roughly $500 for his entire collection, the family didn't care about the history their grandfather was apart of they just wanted it gone. Best $500 purchase in the past 5 years.

Quite random to see a wrapper from the Norwegian Chocolate Kvikk Lunch. It's the goto chocolate bar for any Norwegian going on a hiking/skiing/forest trip :) I think the closest thing you have in the US is the KitKat, but there is a difference in taste in that one! :)

Hey Klesh my Uncle took me to some Yard sales and Estate sales in Waco TX in 2014. He had been doing this since the late 50's till then and had a stall at a Flea Market in Waco. On one trip I drove him to some yard sales of Rich people and I tell you they were practically giving away good stuff! He got 6 silver spoons for a dollar apiece and turned around and got 60 dollars for all 6! He also had brand new Harley Shirts from all over the US for 5 dollars a shirt I got 5 and I got a Harley phone SITB for 10 dollars. Some of the rich don't care about what they've got, but most estate sales know exactly what they want for each item here in Phx it's hard to get a good deal on anything!

Awesome video Shane! That was fun. I learned over the years that rhodium plated silver can look fake (I found a ring detecting that the rhodium coating was coming off, so I thought it was fake) . They do that to make it more shiny. I think it looks worse when they do that. It gives it a cheap chrome look. But yeah, that fake Chinese silver is everywhere. lol. Crazy that you got that bag for a dollar. That was like an estate sale I was at last year. There were understaffed and pricing on the fly. I got a bag of coins for less than face value. Haha

Because it says PAT. 1895 does not mean it was made in 1895 that is the Patient date and not the manufacturing date. As the spoon says .925/1000 at the base. And I got my netbook, still fully charged, with nothing but a single picture on it, no damage or anything, from uscellular one night. Got a charging cart with 40 iPods, everything works no damage, from the same elementary school I got my 10ft smart board, needs some software and a part replaced, but i just use it as a white board mostly. Good evening Shane, I used to hunt for silver items at thrift stores but now they are searching the items before they put them out. It makes it hard to find oddities that are worth money now that they do that, but in the beginning it was fun collected a lot of silver items. I have been just boxing it up for a while now. I need to check eBay or weigh them up to calculate how much silver I have collected. Happy hunting until the video. Stay strong.

Some thrift stores do pick through and take the silver and other valuable items out. However it all depends on the store and depends how knowledgeable the people removing these items are. I still find silver and other valuable items quite often at many thrift stores in my area
