I wonder if you put it in a plastic tub with drying crystals if that would help dry it out?

@@cheyennes7681 you don’t want to contaminate it. You can put it in a domestic oven at the lowest possible setting, on top of a radiator, a warm room like an airing cupboard or a food dehydrator (which is my favourite option).

How will I know when it’s dry, ready for firing?

@@voodoochile7581 if you put the dry piece in a mirror for a few seconds, if you lift it off and there’s condensation it’s not dry. If there’s no condensation it’s ready for firing.

how would I apply the paper on top of a "base" design? Would the base have to be dry then use paste to attach? Or if left wet, can I just add a little paste to the punched out flower from the paper and apply that way?

You have to be careful because when you add the paper to a design, if it's too wet, it'll "melt" the paper into a mush. The best way is to have the base dry and then add a tiny bit of paste to attach the paper. Be VERY sparing with the paste. Less is more!
