Bars are the one thing I really have not purchased much of with the exception of a few Pamp bars. I kick myself for not buying them all this time that I have been stacking. Think about this that 482 ounces today is 7,644 but when silver was 30$ 100 oz bar everyone was buying was 3000$! When silver goes to 30 it will be worth 14,460$. So now is a good time to buy at a little over 15$!

Bars are certainly my favorite form of silver. I really like the old, odd denomination bars that were hand poured, as each one is definitely unique. I have recently looked on ebay and was surprised to learn that those old odd denomination bars are actually becoming quite pricey. The older and uglier the better when it comes to bars! Thx for sharing.

Been really into kilo bars recently. The up front fee is a little pricey, but on average less than $.60/oz premium. Save $ in the long-term.. Scotsdale does have nice looking bars. Premium can be silly sometimes.

Hi bigstack! NTR does those lunar 10oz bars. Many of your vintage bars command a significant premium on ebay, and I know our LCS always sells them close to spot regardless so we try to pick up ones we know we can flip. At some point it would be great of you did a video focusing on your vintage bars and what you can get for them if you know how to sell them. I would do it myself but I'm so behind on video making already I'd probably not get to it until spot prices have come back up to 2011 levels LOL

I often wonder why people like to get so much variety. If I had the money to invest in this quantity, I think I'd spend a long time choosing the style I liked then get all the same bars. Would look nice and neat stacking this quantity of bars but all in the same size/shape/style.

Mounir Hessasta Great question. Yes there is a collectors market that exists for certain rare and unique bars. Although eBay is one of the primary marketplaces to move them. I am not willing to pay exorbitant prices for silver bars, and I am thrilled when I can find more exotic pieces for very close to spot.

Hi I put up a video about asking if its a good idea to invest in 40% silver coins and also wondering if its a smart idea to invest in gram pieces I'm new to this I'm only 20 years old and I really need some guidance

money challenge1 good question - I have a bag of 40% silver myself, but I am not currently getting more. 40% silver is not highly sought after. While you can purchase it for very close to spot, most will not give you spot in return due to factoring in the cost of refining. I would avoid gram pieces, because the premium is high. To someone new to this, I recommend starting by buying generic silver as close to spot as possible, government minted coins when you can find a sale on the premiums ($2 over), and 90% US Silver coins when it can be had close to spot. What do you consider a reasonable premium on those? The lowest I've seen them recently is $28. on eBay. that's like a 80% premium. Should I bite the bullet or do you think I can do better?

They are selling at $587.25. Am I buying under spot price???

***** The percentage changes depending on how much you are having done, and how pure the stuff is you are sending in to be refined. In my situation, They kept their cut right from what I sent in, so I did not have to pay any cash. I don't have an exact figure for you, but it was quite reasonable IMO

BigstackMcgee I have about 20-25 oz of sterling silver in the form of plates and dishes that I wonder if it would be worth refining into silver bars. The old sterling hollowware takes up a lot of space but I don't want to sell it at today's low silver prices. Anyway keep up the good work with your silver bar collection. You can turn it into a hobby worth "investing" in.
