Silver Bay Adventure - Dual Sport

I stayed in Silver Bay at the Americinn near the Black Sand Beach. I was planning on a some scuba diving but it was too chilly by the lake. There is a trail out of the hotel parking lot that leads to many more trails! I rode around Silver Bay and took a trail through the woods down to Beaver Bay, there is a lot more to explore up there, including the shipwreck "Hesper".

Me too, we ate at "Tracks N Racks" in Beaver Bay and had some good food and ran into a couple entertaining locals! I guess "Sofa King" plays on Wednesday nights up there, I'm going to try to catch a show soon!

I may have asked before but what kind of tires are you running? I have big knobbies and they don’t do well when I need to do some pavement portions.

I have a Pirelli MT21 Rallycross on the rear and stock Trail Wing on the front. It's about time for some new ones though and I think I will try the Dunlop D606 next and stay off the highway while the knobbies are fresh!

They were building a new campground/resort after those monkey bars off the highway..is it open now?

There is a campground open right off the highway on the road to the beach. Looks like a decent place to stay other than it might be a bit dusty with the ATV traffic.

Street legal but are you also licensed as OHM? Riding ATV trails on OHM gets a ticket around Bemidji.
