Very good point about selling for fiat dollars. When I sell my silver and other commodities, it will be to close a farm purchase so that I don't have ten seconds of fiat risk that is going to start depreciating in a parabolic spiral if history holds true of other currency collapses. And it will.

My guess is when it hits $30, you will see an unusually large trade between large banks on the COMEX, which will be like a flash crash. Large paper contract selling from one bank and another bank picking up the buy. No physical silver will move.

It’s tough, this is an odd investment/saving vehicle. You want it to go up but you also want it to go down. My humble advice is be patient and keep buying in small (whatever that is for you) increments, if there is a big dip you’ll know when it’s right to pile in. My problem is I never seem to get big checks when it’s down but have been lucky a few times.

When, or if it hits $35, take the opportunity to sell some Silver, and either buy it back when prices fall, or convert it to Gold (when Gold prices fall back). Central Banks will most certainly smash it back down (both Metals, but more so Silver).

I thought that paying an 8 dollar, (Cdn), an ounce premium per Silver ounce for much of my stack was Highway robbery and I wondered if it would ever be worth what I paid for it. Now , I am watching Silver and Gold climbing and climbing in value. I will watch and see what will happen in the next few weeks. Not making any predictions on what is going to happen, but I am waiting for a certain price then will decide what to do with my stack. We'll see what happens!

@@Tj75822 Over the last 10+ years the only significant rise in silver was during the "silver squeeze" in 2020/2021. It stalled out at the $30 level. So there is considerable resistance at that price point. If it breaks through that level it will likely move up to $50. Conventional wisdom says: "IF price breaks above the $30/31 level (to, say, 32/33) it will likely retrace back to the 30/31 level before marching upward to $50." This could easily be over several week, even month (but it could be rapidly, like we've seen in the last couple of weeks). Hope that helped some.

I was hoping that silver would stay low for a much longer time. I’ve been buying when the price was lower, especially when there was also a special sale. Remember, folks… silver and gold go up when your fiat goes down. An ounce of silver will always buy you what it did 50 years ago, no more and no less. If silver shoots up to $1000/ozt, you would not suddenly be “rich.”

I have been following silver for 15 years Basically a rookie. I love the silver coins and collect them as a hobby, not an investment. Silver has been stuck in the mid 20’s for the last 12 years. The only people that think it will go to 100.00 an ounce are the crazy coin dealers that want to increase their business. Collect silver for the hobby and enjoy it. The 1980 spike to $50 was an anomoly created by the Hunt Brothers who tried to corner the market which a buyer panic ensued, so I tend to ignore that as that as a pricing reference point was a one time exclusive event. I prefer to use the 50-1 Gold/silver ratio as a better comparison. If Gold gets to $3000 and the ratio gets close to 50-1, then I am a happy camper.

That's right: buy within your budget. One ounce of gold per year is a reasonable goal. Figure what percentage of your yearly income it is, and in time, as you earn more money, keep that percentage in mind and you will work your way up to two ounces a year. You can do it!
