-- Late to the party by a year, but this is one of the reasons I love Michigan. First time, noob status, Mac Wood's Dune Rides. I was hooked. And BTW, their tours are great for family. Went when I was 8 years old, took my kids on a couple. Two things I remember clearest from my youth. Just outside Yogi Bear State Park up there: A girl got hit and run. Managed hold the bleeding until emergency services arrived. Second was this go-cart place, for the life of me I don't remember the name, but the staff was drunk and going the wrong way down the track. 8 year old me was like WTF?!? Go a little farther north, outrigging canoes from Leland to South Manitou Island. Love everything about Michigan but for the people running it and Detroit.
