As far as we can tell the mill was made around 1900. It’s running on babbit and I try to saw along easy and not break anything 😆 thanks for watching

Run the flame from a lit propane torch in the intake of that 6-71 and turn it and it'll fire. They're good for that. Keep on making sawdust and God Bless ALL Yall!

what the heck is silver maple hows it dif from red or hard maple?

Similar to red in wood character. It’s a large native maple here that grows in the swamps and looks like large celery with multiple stems.

I was told by an old time logger that when you see those trees with multiple stems like that that years ago there was a huge tree in that spot it got cut down and all those stems grew out of the stump Silver maple is just in the soft maple family normally it has no ambrosia in it but somtimes
