Silver Star Ceremony - U.S. Marine Sgt. Phillip McCulloch

Sgt. Phillip A. McCulloch Jr., drill instructor, Company M, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, receives the Silver Star Medal during a morning colors ceremony aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego on Feb. 10, 2012. McCulloch was awarded the medal for his actions during a six-hour engagement with insurgent forces in the Sangin district in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Jan. 8, 2011.
