Now this is also what I love about this channel, learning about cool bands I didnt know beforehand. I heard you mentioned Thornhill earlier, perhaps on the car trip to Copenhell last summer, this song really has amazing deep powerfull sound to it, and a really good vocalist as well,. this was really a cool track, and I think many more will come out in the coming years, cause they sound very ambitious. Technically it was´nt the most tricky one You have played, but still you mastered it to perfection 10/10 from here, also the mix from the Ibanez blended in, like it ws always there. do you think using DigiTech Whammy for changing tuning is a good idea generally for recording and playing? I want to play Drop G Drop F Drop E in a week sometimes and changing tuning all the time fucks up my guitars setup and I’m thinking of buying a whammy.

@@armaganbaklacii I've been using it for a long time, a lot of my covers are recorded with it on anywhere between -1 and an entire octave. I don't know if I'd use it past -2 in for example a studio where everything has to sound exactly how you'd want it, but jamming and doing covers I think it's absolutely fantastic

@ how much does it get bad? or is there certain semitone value it starts to get bad? i tried to use the digital pitch shifter but they all sound terrible. i think an analog whammy should be a lot better.

@@armaganbaklacii From my experience Whammy DT works good if it used between -3 to +3 and also good with 1 octave down. I'm using i myself to tune Drop F# guitar from Drop A (3 steps up) down to Drop D1 (4 steps down). I think Drop G to Drop E would work great. And price for the pedal is much lower than for having another guitar in different tuning

No, the Digitech starts remove a lot of tone past like 3 half-steps and starts to sound really bad. Not to mention, there's latency which makes recording on time much more difficult if you're using the drop tune function. IMO, the drop tune on the Digitech is practically unusable in a recording setting. But if you're not recording and just jamming to songs, then it's fine. I use it to drop my guitars an entire octave to record the bass line to a song sometimes without actually having a bass rig. It works okay, I would never use it to drop guitars beyond 3 half-steps. It sounds awful. The better bet would be to record it in whatever tuning your guitar is in and then drop it to the proper pitch via software in your DAW. Even free DAW's like Audacity has a pitch shifter that'll sound better than the Digitech. The best option is to get a modeler. The Helix, Quad Cortex, Axe-FX, any of them. They all have seamless pitch shifting. Zero latency, no tone issues, it's the best option but also the priciest.
