If we think about it, Silver in this game has a pretty sad story, he literally came to the past to save his future thanks to a guy who was giving him perhaps his only chance to change it, and in reality unlike Sonic or Shadow, Silver literally lost everything, during the course of the game, It's not like with Sonic, who finishing off Solaris meant finishing off the villain of the moment and leaving the world and Elise in peace, similar to Shadow, but with Silver literally in his fight with Solaris he is fighting the only living thing left of his world and by defeating it all his life up to that point will be eliminated, We could even say that he metaphorically died along with this timeline.

That’s what I was thinking, wouldn’t defeating Solaris meant that Sonic/Elise pretty much made Iblis/Mephiles never exist? Which means Silver’s existence is put into question. I guess in Silver’s eyes, any future is better than his, even if he doesn’t get to be a part of it.
