The results are amazing. It looks like how pastel silver should look, it looks blonde, silver, without looking grey. Great job!

Hi there so here's my story, a couple of months ago I went to a sucky hairstylist and I asked for a full head bleach to take my natural dirty ash blonde hair to a light silver colour! She said she would and she wasn't worried because she'd use OLAPLEX but then she didn't do what I'd asked her and she did TONS OF FOILS but left out a bunch of hair! Even stupider (and sorry I'm just mad at her xD) she started at the front. I told her "hey aren't you supposed to start at the back? Especially since the pieces in the front of my hair are both more damaged and lighter?" (my hair grows in really light at the front, idk why it's curly there too and straight everywhere else) she said noo I prefer to start at the front trust me, and I'm going to get the rest in a bleach bath- it'll come out the light white with silver dimensions. So she put heat on the foils and when she was done ( she didn't leave it on very long either) she washed it out and bleach bathed it (Only a 10 developer in the bleach bath!!) and then she toned it and in the end, the front pieces were breaking and the back was barely lightened, the parts she left out were the same colour as before she did anything but damaged and my hair was an uneven mess. We got most of our money back to put it short but that was no easy task, and they blamed the fact that my hair was shitty on the fact that my healthy hair had been box dyed (SEMI permanently) several months before! Good luck finding someone to touch this they said. So I did, I went to a girl who picked out the lighter pieces and did a full head ( except for the lighter pieces) bleach with tin foil and she used twenty volume developer no olaplex either. She was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. After that my hair was bright orange with yellow roots and darker orange lowlights, and also a few lighter yellow streaks. She toned it but then my hair was silver and gold and It didn't look amazing or what I wanted Soo here I am now with my roots freshly done and my hair has been toned with a neutral violet shade and I'm giving it another longer break. (Even though this whole process started in March but I really would like to end it off with having my hair on my head). I went to Sally's and I asked for some advice to how to get it all white silver and she said I should do a bleach bath with 30 volume developer! So my plan is to do a bleach bath on alllll of my hair and use the measurements 1 ounce 30 developer 1 ounce bleach (quick blue) 1 ounce shampoo Then quadruple it (I've got a lotta hair) And then leave it all on either until it's all the colour of the inside of a banana peel or it's getting dry. Then to tone it with the wella T18 lightest ash blonde toner ..... Ahh do you think my wishes for white/silver hair could happen with a bleach bath and tone?? I have step three olaplex and hair masks and I am trying to strengthen my hair in the meantime. Thanks so much!! :)

Mariel Jollymore Oh sweetheart that sounds awful! The first hairstylist sounds like she didn't have a clue what she was doing! Sorry it's taken so long for me to respond! When I do a bleach bath I always use twice the amount of shampoo to bleach but it is personal preference. I'd do the bleach bath over the darker parts of your hair not on the already silvery parts as they won't need it! Or if it still needs quite a bit of lift try covering your hair in coconut oil and using straight bleach with 20vol developer and only applying it to the darker parts, and keep watch of your hair while it's processing to make sure you don't overdo it! Then just tone it and keep it well conditioned and make sure you get any damaged parts cut off ♥♥

I've tried Provoke Silver Shampoo and wasn't much a fan of it, I thought my hair still seemed more of a yellow-white tone; which I'm not too keen on haha. At the moment I use L'Oreal Professionnel Expert Serie - Silver Shampoo, I don't know if it's the best one but I like it. I got a huge 1.5L of it a year or more ago and it's lasted forever! :)

I used this on my hair but less diluted so it could be darker but I only left it on for 30 minutes and it turned into a nice grey. However after three washes it washed out which I was told it would last longer, even the wella 050 lasts longer that that usually. Would you recommend I leave it in longer? I like a steel blue colour so I don't mind if my hair turns more blue but I'd like it to be a darker grey. Thanks!

Eden N Hey bbe! I've never used wella color charm as I've never found it in the UK! But I have used Pravana to get a much more grey effect by hardly diluting it, I did it about 3 weeks ago and my hair is still a nice silver! Though I do use L'oreal serie silver shampoo whenever I wash it (p.s I'm not sponsored that's just my fave one) ♥

What bleaching method did you use to get your roots so pale?
@rchlelzbth
@rchlelzbth 10 жыл бұрын
I smother my hair in coconut oil a few hours before and use 20vol with blue powder bleach, apply to my most visible areas first, then go from the back forward as my hair is darkest underneath. I usually leave it on for about an hour and that's enough for me, I wouldn't recommend leaving it on for longer than an hour but you can do a second one after, or if your hair is a lot darker use 30vol but I wouldn't advise 40 or 50 vol as they'll just fry your hair. I was thinking of doing a bleaching tutorial soon if that'd be helpful? :)
@greychildvii
@greychildvii 10 жыл бұрын
Like what I'm not understanding is how you are able to get your roots so light just from a 20 vol since its one if the weakest. My natural hair is a medium mousy brown. I used to use a 30 vol with the blue bleach prism lites and it wasn't lifting enough. Now I use loreal quick blue with a 40 vol. only on my roots and it works and my hair is fine. Although I still want to bleach my hair causing the least damage I can..I'ts just hard to believe just a 20 vol will work to get it so light? Is your hair naturally light?
@janellej11
@janellej11 9 жыл бұрын
Gabrielle Baier im probably gonna get a lot of flack for this but my natural hair color is medium/dark brown. When i decided to go blonde i used the Clairol Born Blonde in Maxi *gasp box dye* lol. My hair was brassy so i used the Wella color charm toner in t18 with 20 vol developer and my hair was perfect. i am trying to get this silver color though so im gonna use the prism lites bleach powder with 30 vol (salon messed up my hair and made it dark so basically have to start over). if you have the patience i would lighten your hair in stages rather than all at once so its healthier.

Love your videos! I was just wondering if the pravana is considered bleach? Because I went to a stylist to get my hair snow white and seeing as how I had medium natural brown color it didn't turn out too well only blonde (plus I cut off 10 inches of hair) and she told me that if I use any more bleach my hair will fall out (/~\) I really wanted it white and I also want to do a bunch of crazy colors before I go to the navy like pastels but I have no idea where to look, I don't want permanent or semi permanent just something that'll stay in for maybe a week then I can wash out. If you have any ideas about pastel colors or the pravana that would be amazing =^.^*=
@rchlelzbth
@rchlelzbth 9 жыл бұрын
Aw thank you my lovely! No this is not bleach its a semi permanent hair colour that won't damage your hair! BUT your hair needs to be realllly pale underneath for it to actually work! If your hair is the colour of my roots before I applied the pravana you should be fine without bleaching your hair again! 😊 Also pastel colours hardly last long at all without using a dye/conditioner mix when you wash your hair so go crazy with it! If you look to my mermaid pastel ombre video I show how to mix a dark semi permanent colour (e.g directions, stargazer, special effects, manic panic, crazy colour and loads more) with conditioner so that would save money, but if you just want to change colours really fast you might be better off just buying one of those brands already mixed pastel dyes. Hope that makes sense! ❤
@booksandreams2543
@booksandreams2543 9 жыл бұрын
+Rachael Elizabeth Thanks a bunch!! So if I mix it with conditioner like your video it'll save the dye for longer so I can do it again/for longer but if I buy like special effects and I wanna change it often don't dilute it?
@rchlelzbth
@rchlelzbth 9 жыл бұрын
+Booksandreams yeah so if you were dying it say... pastel pink and you had a tub of really dark pink dye, you'd only need to use like half a teaspoon of the dye with a bowl of conditioner so you'd still have a fuck ton of the pink dye left so you wouldn't need to buy more dye when you're re-dyeing your hair ☺ However if you only wanted the pastel pink once and don't want it for long you could just buy already pastel pink dye from directions crazy colour etc and you wouldn't need to dilute it so you'd use all the dye when dyeing your hair xx

Rachael Elizabeth My hair is just yellow, it never goes white or white-ish. Just yellow. I have tried different coolers but it does not work :/ Only the professional hair salons make my hair white-ish but the hair is also completely damaged afterwards, so I want to be able to do it myself. But maybe my hair is too dark (even if I am blonde myself) to bleach :/ Thank you very much for your reply btw

To your chin it looks platinum, but the ends are really lilac, put some color filler on the over bleached older hair first or even some conditioner, I think if it was evenly the color from your neck up it would be far better. Silver and purple are too different things.
