Yup! The repairs now and then including rockers and cab corners. Is still cheaper than a new truck. Especially if it keeps trucking!

If you pull the headlights and then the marker lights you can see the 15mm bolt head from up top. Super easy to access.

@@MartinMora92 Normal engine crane, this one has 3 lengths it can go to so longest just for the reach. Box is light so crane has no problem lifting it. As for hooks, these chevys have little d-ring tie downs welded into the corners which are perfect. But most boxes have some sort of tie down or a hole etc that you can clip into easy enough.

Midwest 2001 silverado 2500 here. wanted to put running boards on it, and the first body mount bolt i started to take off snapped. How do I go about getting the rusted bolt out? Any help would be fantastic. i haven't even touched any other body bolt yet, not sure how to go about getting the rest out without breaking.

That sucks, hate when they break. Looks like yer gonna have to pull up some carpet. There'll be rectangular plastic covers that when removed show the top of the body mount bolt. I don't have a video to show you but I did a little search, here's a fella with a decent description on what you're looking at. To remove the Bolt on the radiator you need to remove the headlights and now you get acces

Good tip, although I found it much easier to just use a 2' long extension (I know most people arent going to have one of them) and go down from the top, had to remove nothing. Hardest part was opening the hood.

If the body line on my truck is lower than the body line on the bed could the mounts be the issue?

Definitely a leading cause, but depending on the condition you could have some rot in the floor or frame body mount area.

How did the body mounts work ? Did you notice a difference in ride quality?

Not at all, my driveway is 500 yards long and full of bumps and it feels just like any other pickup and of course roads are roads so no complaint from me.

@@SchnebsGarage that’s because you went with prothane which is much stiffer than the stock rubber mounts that came with your truck and is targeted for racing / off road use. Had payed a bit extra for oem Rubber your ride quality would’ve improved. Look into energy suspension bushings they offer much better ride it’s right in the middle in terms of price but I hear a lot of people swear by them

@@wendigo2046 After a year with them in I can safely say there is virtually no difference that I can tell. Might have made a difference in an older truck with stiff suspension but these new trucks are built more for comfort than working anyway. It sure as hell beats metal on metal that I was dealing with before I replaced em.

I was fully expecting to break a few in the process. But they were in reasonably decent condition so I wire wheeled em and put em back in.

Oh absolutely, it was a farm truck based on everything I've seen, so not only road salt but also mud and leaves and pine needles etc...
