Those demos, man. I wish Daniel'd come back to these things. I like the almost impressionist whimsicality. It's got a little darkness, too. It's 95% cute whimsicality and 5% dark creepiness.

I like the progression and transition from those thieving to strange behavior not like in the album, the transition is too gradual you would actually thought it has 2 different songs in it. The one in the album is more catchy though but I like them both. Brilliant chord progression and arrangement. Genius.

I agree with Tam and HotPapa... it's so amazing to hear progression and growth in a band's repertoire. There's something special coursing through the past 2 albums. I can sympathise with the fans from the beginning who feel disgruntled at the perceived 'abandonment' of the earlier style; yet the rest of us can surely appreciate superb musicianship and musical artistry. love it

Agreed! eccentric and lo-fi and whimsical perfectly sum up the YM demos. I prefer them to the actual album. English Garden especially. what a song!
