Hi! First of all, hats off to the content you make, i really apreciate that! I noticed that you make both Lumion and D5 content and i would kindly ask your advice on something. I have been working with Lumion professionaly for over 6 years now in landscaping projects. One thing i like about Lumion in particular is the large assets library in green. How would you rate the green assets library of D5 compared to Lumion? I am getting more and more convinced of moving over to D5, but it feels like a big leap concidered the amount of time i put in and the worklow i developed in Lumion. How would you compare the two softwares? Beste regards, Martijn
@silvercoloredlens2 жыл бұрын
Hi Martijn, I too have about almost the same experience with Lumion as you and have tried different software in the field. What I can confidently say is that, it is always a better option to know when to use which software. It's always a healthier and wiser way to go about things. As for answering your question into which software is better, I can say Lumion has a huge headstart into the industry and D5 render is the one up and coming. To me Lumion is expensive yet so far worth every penny, but D5 Render is the one towards the future of rendering in terms of their update and very good community support. It all depends on your current situation. For me, I can use both and that is a huge advantage. I always believe that being able to navigate and adapt on what's currently on top, but also keeping your sight on to what's coming is a huge advantage. Hope that makes sense. 🙂

@@silvercoloredlens That makes a lot of sense. It is always good to keep looking for whats going on on the horizon while apreciating what we have. Thank you for your interesting take on this subject. I look forward to your next video's!

Hi, I'm Numan Gursoy. I am a student of cartoon and animation department. I'm making a 3D animated short movie with Blender for my school project. Since rendering with Blender Cycles is very difficult, I've been looking for real-time rendering programs like D5 rendering. I would like to ask you a few questions about D5. First, can I transfer my animated character and cameras from Blender to the D5 render program? If I can transfer it, can I also adjust my character's texture and adjustments such as subsurface scattering? I will be very happy if you answer.
@silvercoloredlens Жыл бұрын
Hi Numan. Great to have you here. 👋 Yes, you can transfer your animated character as ABC format. You can also sync your blender camera using the Blender-D5 Render Livesync tool. For texture adjustments, you can do the basic editing parameters and uploading of textures within D5. As for SSS, the new version 2.4 supports it now. Here is a link for the Livesync tool: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaeYqJxrhZqXba8 Hope I was able to be of help. 🙂

Hello there! Can you import a camera animation with the DXF model into D5 render?
@silvercoloredlens2 жыл бұрын
Are you using REVIT as your main 3d modeling and camera animation setup? There's a Syncing method in D5 Render where you can sync your 3d file and do all your editing inside Revit and see real-time results in D5 render. Here's the link for more details with regards to the workflow: www.d5render.com/post/d5-render-for-revit-best-real-time-3d-rendering-workflow-for-bim-professionals Hope that helps, Abed. 🙂

@@silvercoloredlens Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I use Maya for my modeling and I prefer to also use the animated camera from Maya. Is there a way to export them to D5 Render? Thanks!

As of now, Maya is not supported or compatible with D5 Render. Maybe in the future, we'll see. 🤞

But d5 render still so very slow in making walk thru animation against twinmotion and lumion
@silvercoloredlens2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's true, but we have to consider that D5 is still comparably new against Lumion and other software for archviz. New improvements are very much anticipated. 🙂

Hi. Can it be used in Blender 3D??? Will it run on i7 7700 3,6 GHz, GTX 1060 6GB and 16 GB RAM???
@silvercoloredlens2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Blender is compatible with D5 render. You just need to download and install the importer. You can visit and download from their website. With that specs, it should be fine as long as you don't render large scenes. Hope that helps. 🙂
