I just got this book, I think is very useful (and beautiful) for people who wishes to dive into the Secong Age in a more history-like style. I just finished The Silmarillion for my third time. Wish you a good reading, it's a tremendous work.

You had me at Allan Lee. And yes, when all of them are together, it looks sublime. I personally have almost have all of em except for nature of middle earth and this one and I cant wait for em to stock locally. Also, with the dustjacket's fragility, I went around that by covering it with a plastic book covering film, just around the front and the edges with minimal adhesion using tape so I can change or remove em in the future.

Kyle my friend, you have taste very similar to mine. Marvel omnis, these beautiful lotr illustrated hardcovers (I own literally all of these, in the 9 inch trim size), and jrpgs etc. I’m getting big into the Ys series right now and doing a big playthrough… Anyway, these Tolkein books are some of the favorites in my entire collection. Cheers

You have excellent taste then lol. Ys has always been a series I'd like to get into. Are you starting at the vert beginning? As I've heard you can kind of just jump into any entry.

@@silverkyle I’m playing in story order, so it’s a bit out of release order. Story order is: Origin 1+2 Chronicles 4 (Memories of Celceta) 3 Oath in Felghana V Kefin (have to emulate this one) VIII Lacrimosa of Dana VI Ark of Napishtim VII IX Monstrum Nox You would be fine to pick up any entry, though. They keep the references in the background. The music is fantastic. I would not go in expecting the stories to be anywhere near the Trails series that you have, though. Think of them as breezy action RPGs with the same protagonist, Adol, who will grow on you.

How are the dust covers holding up now?

So far so good! I have plastic covers that I've added to help protect them though.
