My wife and I did this beautiful walk in December when we were in Cape Town for Christmas. It was very busy and each of the picnic spots and little nooks and cranny's were occupied.

We took a brisk walk around the dam yesterday, it was not that busy as you said when you visited, altho' it was early morning, there were many cars parked, perhaps more hikers than swimmers. There were many swimming lengths, they exhausted me watching and young ones in tubes, playing close to the waters edge near parents. The sound of frogs at the bridge made me look hard for ducks! The unreachable view of pink, white and yellow water-lilies with their overlapping heart leaves was splendid to see. The coke-a-cola water and deeply creviced rockery with leafy greens of many shades with its vast biome holds a very special place.
