one thing ive notcied is the encouragement at the begining og the game, the you can do it truly does persist. im about 30 hours in (several are from leaving the game running while i take a break) and just started on the c sides. once you finish a room or a level, you knkw that you van do it, i died 162 times on my furst blind clear of chapter 1 c side. i immediately went for the golden c side strawberriw. it only took 40 more tries for it despite having to start from scratch each time , this game is really good at getting you to encourage yourself.

All solid points! I just started speedrunning this year. With Gunman Clive as my first “serious” speedrunning game, followed by Celeste. The fact that the game is fun, and lack of rng really makes it a great entry game for anyone looking to start. Of course at first glance it seems like the opposite. My first playthrough took me 7-8 hours. I started my speedrunnning shortly after and was able to finish it in an hour and a half. Which further pushed me to improve. :)

It's amazing how naturally you tend towards speedrunning just by playing the same levels over and over again. I'm currently trying to get all of the golden strawberries, and after hundreds or even thousands of deaths on some levels, it's amazing how quickly you just kind of get a feel for how to complete the level as quickly as possible so as to better utilize your time. Of course, this also makes your attempts a lot more dangerous, which means that you'd probably get the golden strawberry much faster just by playing the level normally, lol.

I enjoyed watching this video and thank you for suggesting a game to speedrun now let me tell you some reasons why YOU ( the guy reading this comment ) should speedrun KATANA ZERO , there are a lot of reasons in your video that are same with katana zero as well 1_ katanna zero has a speedrun mode : in speedrun mode there is no time waster like cutscenes , story or whatever , speedrun mode has a timer itself and it tells you how long it took you to complete each level and after each run you can compare your time with your previous best time 2_ katana zero is forgiving : deaths are so quick in this game and you dont go back far by dying in this game 3_ katana zero is not very long : the world record of this game is only about 17 minutes , for me who is an absolute beginner my personal best was only about 1 hour though ( I only ran it 3 times for now lol ) 4_ it's an easy game 5_ it's a pixelart game so it doesnt have those hurtbox issues you mentioned either 6_ it doesnt have no RNG what so ever 7_ it's a fun game even without speedrunning the gameplay and the story is really amazing and you will not get bored from it I really hope you give this game a try

try to teach yourself discipline. The kind of discipline you need to be able to perform these is a good learning experience. Since it's pixel precision and muscle memory, it teaches self criticism in the task you're performing like no other thing in the world. Another way of looking at it is like a rythym game. If you can remember the rhythm , then technically you should be able to play it with closed eyes.
I actually kind of started soeedrunning this game. But not really competetively, my best time is 54:27 which I'm okay with. I'm also currently trying to collect all golden strawberries so far I've got every C-Side Golden, every A-Side Golden and 1-3 B-Side Golden. im only at the hotel , but honestly , i could rather see myself speedrun celeste than final fantasy 13 , or even more crazy , final fantasy 13 plat% (the world record for that category is 18 hours 24 minutes ) its not like 13 is a bad game but its a quite hard rpg where you sometimes need to grind , and some bosses can be tricky if you are underleveled , the world record even is under 5 hours , i dont have any idea how you could do that , unless theres a big skip in the game , and even then it would be crazy celeste however, just requires skill and thats it , i wont have to worry about a boss whiping me out because i wont have the time to grind levels , and for ff13 i bet plat% also involes tons of rng since you need to get 6 trapezohedrons and those have a 1% chance to drop from killing one strong monster , or you can buy them for 2 million , which probably takes too long in a speedrun but celeste just has platforming and nothing else

I found it better to run the whole thing at first if your goal is just to be comfortable, so that you can get used to the sequence, then when you find a specific section to practice then just repeat it again and again to finish it. So to practice, do a section, to feel comfortable do the whole thing if that makes sense? That way you get used to and comfortable with the full sequence rather then fearing it. But everyone is different.
