I love how this is a concept album. First song is about a fire consuming his house and cleansing his mind and soul from his cheating wife. Vices, he goes to a bar to drink his pain away and not wanting to go home to sleep with the devil, the one who cheated on him and lied to him. Broken stars goes into how he will make it on his own. American Dream is saying the dream of being married and having 2 kids is dead. I Knew I Couldn't Trust You is self explanatory. I Am The Arsonist ties everything together saying he was the one who set the house on fire because of what happened between his best friend and bride. The rest is about coping with loss and rising above it.

"The rest is about coping with loss and rising above it." More like his failure to do so. It's only a story, but I found A Shipwreck In the Sand really moving and intricate. Silverstein do a great job of conveying the emotions of the main character to us listeners; we feel the pain that he goes through as we listen to his demise throughout the album. It's amazing.

It's a very close race, but this is probably my favorite song from Silverstein, out of their entire discography. It's the melody line of this song; even though the protagonist of this album is by definition the anti-hero, the song still manages to sound so heroic. I do think that was intentional. I love Silverstein, they're my absolute favorite band. ;)
